Abstract: The Sinimbu River basin on the northern coast of Paraíba has been marked by a series of
socio-environmental conflicts over time. The lack of riparian vegetation, agriculture, and riverbed siltation
are some of the problems surrounding the basin. To facilitate an understanding of this environment and aid
environmental planning, the objective of this study is to analyze the environmental vulnerability of the
Sinimbu River basin in an integrated manner, using ecodynamic theory. The methodology adopted was based
on geotechnologies, using cartography, geoprocessing, and remote sensing to delimit the basin, extract
drainage, and prepare thematic maps. The geoenvironmental components were analyzed: geology,

geomorphology, pedology, climate, land cover, and land use, applying the ecodynamic model proposed by
Tricart (1977), adapted by Ross (2011) and Crepani et al. (2001). The results indicated a predominance of
fragile formations, such as colluvial-eluvial deposits and young soils (Neossolos), which exhibited high
natural instability. The geomorphology indicated flat to gently undulating relief, with more vulnerable areas
near drainage channels. The climate showed low rainfall erosivity, while land use and land cover evidenced
intense agricultural occupation, suppression of riparian vegetation, and fragmentation of the Atlantic Forest.
The integrated analysis demonstrated that the microbasin presents classes ranging from moderate stability to
moderate vulnerability, evidencing natural morphogenic influences, intensified by anthropogenic use. It is
concluded that the approach used is efficient in identifying environmental vulnerability, offering relevant
insights for land use planning, environmental management, and natural resource conservation at the local
scale.

Abstract: The fragmentation of native vegetation on the North Coast of Paraíba compromises the continuity of remaining forests and reduces the
landscape's capacity to sustain ecological flows, reinforcing the need for spatial analyses applied to conservation. In this context, this
study aimed to analyze the structural connectivity of the Forest Formation class in the landscape, based on graph theory, under different
distance scenarios, seeking to evaluate the landscape's response to different dispersion scales, understand the structural role of each
patch, and identify priority fragments. The study covers the North Coast Microregion of Paraíba, using land use and land cover data
from MapBiomas in 2024, processed in a geographic information system and a connectivity modeling program. Remnants of Forest
Formation were extracted and simulated in different dispersion scenarios. The results indicated a fragmented landscape, with a low
proportion of forest cover and a predominance of small patches. Connectivity increased with increasing distance, but remained low,
revealing a poorly integrated structure; that is, the identified connectivity patterns are robust, as they do not vary even in different
distance scenarios. It was also found that a few fragments are of greater importance for maintaining the network, including extensive
remnants and strategically positioned patches. It is concluded that regional structural connectivity depends on the conservation of the
largest remnants and connecting fragments, whose maintenance can strengthen environmental planning and conservation actions.

Abstract: Restinga is defined as vegetation established on sandy soils that occurs in the coastal plain
region. The study was conducted on Ilha das Moças, Aldeia Tramataia, municipality of
Marcação on the northern coast of Paraíba. The village is part of the Rio Mamanguape
Environmental Protection Area (APA) and has a history of logging, which has resulted in a
significant loss of tree vegetation. As an attempt to restore the ecosystem, the Cacique Iniguaçu
Indigenous State School annually plants seedlings during Environment Week; however,
although this action has been recurring for about 10 years, the results are still limited. In this
sense, this study aimed to evaluate the development of seedlings planted in a restinga area
undergoing a restoration process and the influence of nucleation on their growth and survival.
During the years 2023 to 2025, a survey of 12 nucleations was carried out, with 44 seedlings of
six different species. The nucleations were monitored annually for their circumference, and the
seedlings for their height and circumference annually, and their survival was monitored
monthly. Nucleated seedlings showed a growth rate of 31.5%, while the seedlings showed an
average growth rate of 5.67%; 14 individuals did not survive. We conclude that nucleation
techniques favor success in the restoration process in restinga areas.

Abstract: This study addresses the relationship between society and the environment,
highlighting the emergence of environmental policies focused on environmental
management and the sustainable use of green spaces. The objective was to
evaluate the environmental impacts on the Nascença Ecological Park in the
municipality of Itapororoca/PB. The methodology used consisted of a literature
review, direct field observation, and the application of a qualitative matrix to
identify the main environmental impacts of the Park. Through field visits, it was
possible to identify that the most frequent activities are local visitation, tourism,
commercial activities, informal educational use, and water extraction. The results
obtained through the qualitative analysis matrix demonstrated that these
activities exert pressure on environmental components, soil, fauna, flora, water
resources, and the socioeconomic environment. Therefore, a lack of control and
1
oversight in the Park is observed, necessitating measures that can contribute to
the environmental management of the Nascença Ecological Park.
