Abstract: Introduction: The Achilles tendon (AT) is involved in several functional activities such as walking, running and jumping. Due to its excessive use it can suffer wear and tear. For the rehabilitation of tendon injuries, several resources have been studied, such as isometric exercises and photobiomodulation (FBM), but the effects of these resources on AT temperature are still unknown. Objective: To evaluate the AT thermographic profile of asymptomatic individuals during the execution of an experimental protocol with isometric exercise and application of FBM. Materials and methods: It is a crossover, randomized, blinded study with a washout time of one week. The sample consisted of a group of five asymptomatic women with a mean age of 23.4±0.54 years; weight 65.42±8.11 Kg, height 1.65±0.45m, body mass index (BMI) 24.04±4.01 Kg/m2; percentage of fat = 36.16±9.21%. The AT temperature was recorded with a Flir T-360 thermographic camera in videos before, during and after the execution of the experimental protocol. For FBM, a 660nm LED device was used. To measure pain and perceived exertion, the visual analogue scale and the Borg scale were used. Descriptive statistics were performed; ANOVA with repeated measures was used to compare temperatures over the follow-up period; Paired t-test was used to compare perceived exertion and pain; and between pairs of dominant and non-dominant members alone. In all analyses, the SPSS software (20.0) was used, with a significance level of 5%. Results: The temperature of the ATs decreased for both groups over time (p<0.001), however, in the FBM group that activates the dominant AT, it showed an increase in temperature immediately after LED application (p<0.001). In the analysis of the FBM sham group, it was found that the two TCs followed the same trend of temperature decrease over time (p=0.715). According to the evaluation of means, it was observed that isometric exercise did not cause fatigue and significant pain to volunteers in the active FBM group (p=0.057). Conclusion: It is concluded that isometric exercise caused a decrease in temperature in the ATs. The LED was able to promote a significant thermal effect, but for a short period of time.

Abstract: In Parkinson's disease (PD) changes in executive function cause the most common cognitive damage. Thus, the aim of the study was to analyze and evaluate the effects of the association of transcranial direct current electrical stimulation techniques, treadmill motor training, and dual tasking on executive and motor function in people with PD. Six participants with mean age of 60 years; mean H&Y of 2.2; mean level higher than 700mg/day of levodopa administration performed; performed 12 sessions of treadmill training enriched by tDCS, associated or not with Dual Task training. When analyzing Before and After time, there was significant difference in motor function for MDS-UPDRS III, TUG and TUG-DT. Regarding executive function, there was no difference in time for Stroop Test, verbal fluency and Trail making test. Therefore, we conclude that treadmill training associated with transcranial stimulation is effective for the therapy of motor outcomes; however, further studies are needed to understand the effects on cognitive dysfunction in people with PD.

Abstract: Objective: describe and compare actions of attention and rehabilitation in Primary Health Care (PHC) aimed at Persons with Disabilities (PWD) in Brazil. Methods: data from Quality Assessment Program in Primary Care (PMAQ-AB, in portuguese). Analysis were carried out based on Module IV of the 2nd (2015) and 3rd (2018) Cycle of the PMAQ-AB. Comparisons of the positive evaluation (“yes”) of the care provided to PWD in the PHC were performed, by calculating the Prevalence Ratio (PR), admitting the 2nd Cycle as a reference category and considering national data and data from the five geographic regions. Results: the prevalence of affirmative answers for PWD care increased in the 3rd cycle in the national scenario in relation to support in actions related to PWD, assessment and home adaptations and promotion of the inclusion of PWD in sports and leisure activities. The prevalence of rehabilitation actions in PHC in Brazil has also increased. The scenario of changes in PWD care was different between Brazilian regions. The Northeast region was the one that most increased the percentage of care actions for PCD, following the national standard, and also including an increase in referral for use of prostheses/orthotics and assistive devices. Conclusion: for most of the activities evaluated, there was an increase in the prevalence of its performance between the assessments of the 2nd and 3rd cycles of the PMAQ-AB, however there is still a need to expand the offer and service of some activities in most regions of the country, favoring integral care for PCD.

Abstract: In late 2019, a group of cases of pneumonia associated with a new coronavirus, SARS-Cov-2, emerged, spreading across the world and being labeled a global pandemic by COVID-19. Most patients will not require hospitalization, while others may present complications such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), requiring the use of invasive mechanics (IMV). Patients with ARDS due to COVID-19 may have specific characteristics compared to the typical forms of the syndrome, developing distinct phenotypes that have yet to be studied. Research has, therefore, focused on clarifying lung protective preventive measures (PPE) for these patients. This study was a narrative review aiming to investigate the current world experience in relation to PPE as the management of ARDS associated with COVID-19 and to highlight IMV practices during a pandemic. After a process of identification, selection, eligibility and inclusion of the studies screened in the PubMed and BVS databases, 20 studies were selected to be imposed, publications from 2019 to 2020. From this, a qualitative summary of the studies was performed. In most studies, the ventilatory management of patients is similar to the “classic” ARDS and, therefore, a PPE stood out as an important ally in the regression of ARDS in patients COVID 19. However, the phenotypic heterogeneity of patients must be taken into account, especially regarding pulmonary mechanics and recruitment capacity. This study allowed for a scientific deepening of the similarities and differences of ARDS due to COVID-19 and other causes, in addition to allowing the formation of guidelines regarding initial ventilatory adjustments in patients with ARDS / COVID-19.
