Autor(es): Salviano, Carlos Henrique Ribeiro Orientador: Martins, Paula Dieb Abstract: This study investigates the connections and discontinuities between intra-urban fragments, focusing on the “noble Altiplano,” in the Altiplano Cabo Branco neighborhood, and the Timbó community, in the Bancários neighborhood, in João Pessoa, PB. Situated within the debate on the production and reproduction of urban space under capitalist logic, the research is grounded in the understanding that such processes intensify socio-spatial segregation, materializing inequalities and fragmentations within the urban fabric. Its objective was to understand the socio-spatial relations established in heterogeneous contexts, identifying (dis)articulations between the analyzed fragments and their respective neighborhoods, which are adjacent. To this end, the study adopts as its theoretical-methodological basis the Lefebvrian triad of the production of space, analyzing the dimensions of conceived, perceived, and lived space. In the analytical framework, within the scope of perceived space, the dérive method and the analysis of the image of the city were employed; in conceived space, normative instruments and aspects of urban morphology were examined; and in lived space, dynamics of appropriation and aspects of urbanity were analyzed. The results reveal that, although Altiplano has better infrastructure and urban facilities, it presents a lower intensity of uses and social interactions, which are important drivers of urbanity. In contrast, the Timbó community, despite its infrastructural deficiencies, exhibits a more active social dynamic among its residents. It is concluded that disparities in the treatment provided by public authorities and private agents reinforce the differentiation of these fragments in space, with the marginalization of peripheral areas to the benefit of high-value sectors, although both share common vulnerabilities, such as the experience of fear and the direct influence of external agents in the production of space. Editor: Universidade Federal da Paraíba Tipo: TCC 2026-04-09T00:00:00Z https://repositorio.ufpb.br/jspui/handle/123456789/38207 Título: A narrativa do construir no sertão pernambucano: aspectos culturais na habitação popular em Itapetim – PE Autor(es): : Ferreira, Joseliany Guedes Orientador: Castor, Dimitri Costa Abstract: This research investigates vernacular architecture in the Pernambuco hinterland, focusing on rural housing in the municipality of Itapetim – PE, a region known as the “Immortal Womb of Poetry.” The overall objective of the research is to understand aspects of vernacular architecture in Itapetim, in the Pernambuco hinterland, to understand how local construction practices reveal the knowledge, values, and identity of the region. The methodology initially comprised a literature review and the socio-spatial contextualization of Itapetim–PE. Following this, a case study was conducted with ten 20th-century rural dwellings, using photographic and graphic surveys to collect primary data. The analysis was structured by adapting Baker's method into architectural analysis sheets attached to the work, combining formal analysis with the perspectives of Weimer and Lemos on culture and sociability. Finally, constructive patterns and adaptive solutions were identified, resulting in the creation of an explanatory booklet as the final product. The theoretical framework establishes a conceptual distinction between vernacular and vernacular architecture. The evolution of definitions of self-construction and their different theoretical approaches was also investigated, intrinsically connecting them to the formation of culture and identity in the northeastern hinterland from the perspectives of Gunter Weimer and Carlos Lemos, where the act of building is inseparable from the environmental and symbolic conditions of the territory. The results reveal a remarkable formal and spatial homogeneity, with 100% of the dwellings presenting rectangular or square floor plans and a rigid internal organization based on the living room-bedroom-kitchen triad. From a general perspective, the data demonstrate that architecture in Itapetim is a living organism, shaped by the scarcity of resources and climatic adaptation to the semi-arid region. Elements such as the "terreiro" (or capoeira) and the "Dutch door" were identified as universal components in the sample, acting as vital mediators of sociability and security in the hinterland. The analysis of the materiality highlighted the techniques of taipa and brick masonry, both with a vernacular character due to the use of locally extracted and processed materials, such as clay and native wood, as well as other results found. In addition to the materiality centered on the use of clay and native wood, the results of the investigation contemplated a series of other morphological and symbolic evidence, demonstrating how self-construction in Itapetim systematizes cultural resistance through space. It is concluded that popular architecture in Itapetim synthesizes cultural heritages and technical adaptations, demonstrating that architectural quality stems from resilience and respect for the environment and local history, regardless of the abundance of financial resources. As a final product, the work proposes the creation of a primer to systematize and return this knowledge to the local community. In the Brazilian scenario, specifically in João Pessoa-PB, there is significant growth in the sector, although it lacks design parameters that combine operational efficacy with local environmental constraints. This Undergraduate Thesis aims to investigate the relationship between architecture and themed amusement parks, culminating in the proposal of design guidelines for leisure enterprises in João Pessoa-PB. The adopted methodology was based on a qualitative and deductive approach, including a review of the theoretical framework on immersive architecture and the analysis of ten national and international correlates using the Baker Method. The results allowed for the systematization of eleven design guidelines, addressing topics from narrative sectorization to passive thermal comfort strategies adapted to the humid tropical climate.
