Abstract: This study aims to investigate the informal mathematcical knowledge of artisanal&#xD;
fishermen from Baía da Traição, Paraíba, Brazil, used in their daily work activities. The&#xD;
research is based on the understanding that mathematical knowledge is not present&#xD;
only in the school environment, but also in the everyday practices of different social&#xD;
groups, especially those who build their knowledge through experience, social&#xD;
interaction, and work-related needs. The study is grounded in the perspective of&#xD;
Ethnomathematics and values the knowledge produced within the cultural context of&#xD;
artisanal fishermen. The researcch is characterized as qualitative and exploratory,&#xD;
conducted through interviews with three artisanal fishermen from the municipality of&#xD;
Baía da Traição-PB. The participants’ statements revealed that, even with limited&#xD;
formal schooling, they mobilize mathematical knowledge in several fishing-related&#xD;
situations, such as the use of measurements of length, capacity, and mass, as well as&#xD;
calculatchionns involving division, proportion, estimation, and percentage. These&#xD;
forms of knowledge appear in the organization of fishing activities, in boat preparation,&#xD;
in the division of the catch, in the making of fishing nets, and in the use of traditional&#xD;
measurement units, such as the handspan and the fathom. The results show that the&#xD;
mathematical knowledge present in artisanal fishing is constructed through practice,&#xD;
transmitted across generations, and closely connected to the culture and lived reality&#xD;
of the fishermmen

Abstract: This study analyzed the application of George Polya's heuristic in solving problems involving&#xD;
linear systems in high school, in two 2nd-year classes at a public school in the city of&#xD;
Itapororoca. The objective was to investigate whether the use of this approach would contribute&#xD;
to minimizing difficulties related to the interpretation of statements and the development of&#xD;
problem-solving strategies. A quantitative-qualitative methodology was adopted, based on the&#xD;
application of activities with two classes: one that received guidance on Polya's heuristic and&#xD;
another that did not have access to this strategy. The proposal was based on the four stages of&#xD;
the method: comprehension, plan establishment, plan execution, and reflection, applied to&#xD;
solving problems with linear systems. The research also relied on the guidelines of the National&#xD;
Common Curriculum Base, especially regarding the development of skills related to problemsolving. The results showed that the students who used the heuristic performed better in&#xD;
interpreting the statements and organizing problem-solving strategies, compared to the class&#xD;
that did not receive guidance. It was also observed that the students' initial difficulty was&#xD;
strongly associated with understanding the problems, which was partially overcome with the&#xD;
systematic application of the steps proposed by Polya. It was concluded that the use of Polya's&#xD;
heuristic significantly contributed to making the learning of linear systems more accessible,&#xD;
favoring the development of mathematical thinking and bringing the discipline closer to the&#xD;
students' reality.

Abstract: La presente investigación tiene como objetivo general analizar la aplicación de una&#xD;
secuencia didáctica que utilizó modelos didácticos y aplicaciones digitales en la&#xD;
enseñanza de Geometría para estudiantes sordos del V ciclo de la Educación de Jóvenes&#xD;
y Adultos. Para alcanzar este objetivo, se establecieron tres objetivos específicos:&#xD;
explorar estrategias y metodologías inclusivas ya utilizadas en la enseñanza de Geometría&#xD;
adaptadas para estudiantes sordos; ejecutar una secuencia didáctica para la enseñanza de&#xD;
conceptos de Geometría a alumnos sordos de la EJA; y analizar la secuencia didáctica&#xD;
aplicada a la luz del debate realizado con la comunidad científica y referencias teóricas&#xD;
contemporáneas. La justificación de esta investigación surge de la urgencia de desarrollar&#xD;
prácticas pedagógicas inclusivas que atiendan adecuadamente a los estudiantes sordos en&#xD;
la enseñanza de Matemáticas, dado que solo el 7% de las personas sordas en Brasil poseen&#xD;
educación superior completa. Metodológicamente, la investigación se caracteriza como&#xD;
básica en cuanto a su naturaleza; cualitativa en cuanto al enfoque; exploratoria en cuanto&#xD;
a los objetivos; y en cuanto a los procedimientos, se trata de un estudio de caso combinado&#xD;
con una revisión bibliográfica, en la cual se consultaron 37 obras de 34 autores, datadas&#xD;
entre 1893 y 2026, proporcionando una base teórica sobre la enseñanza para sordos,&#xD;
aplicaciones, adaptación de materiales y Educación Matemática. Los instrumentos de&#xD;
recolección de datos incluyeron entrevistas con gestores, profesores e intérpretes a través&#xD;
de preguntas abiertas para identificar el perfil de los alumnos sordos, la disponibilidad de&#xD;
ambientes apropiados; observación durante las clases con registro de los&#xD;
comportamientos, interacciones y aprendizajes de los estudiantes durante la aplicación de&#xD;
la secuencia didáctica. La secuencia didáctica fue aplicada en tres clases en el ambiente&#xD;
de Atención Educativa Especializada, para dos estudiantes sordos con mediación de un&#xD;
intérprete de Libras, siendo los hallazgos parciales compartidos con la comunidad&#xD;
científica a través de la presentación a un congreso internacional, al portal educativo de&#xD;
la Capes y a un evento de extensión de la UFPB de Libras para sordos. Los resultados&#xD;
encontrados indican que los estudiantes lograron una comprensión satisfactoria de los&#xD;
conceptos de Geometría trabajados. Como sugerencias para futuras investigaciones, la&#xD;
comunidad científica recomendó extender la presente investigación a nivel de&#xD;
maestría/doctorado con fines de mayores seguimientos longitudinales. La relevancia de&#xD;
esta investigación se manifiesta en la dirección de la justicia educativa, ya que las&#xD;
personas sordas y el público de la Educación de Jóvenes y Adultos son, históricamente,&#xD;
víctimas de la falta de acceso al conocimiento escolar. De esta forma, es de interés&#xD;
académico fomentar el debate sobre metodologías inclusivas en la enseñanza de&#xD;
Geometría para un público históricamente vulnerable.

Abstract: This study analyzed the manifestation of reasoning and mathematical concepts in the&#xD;
professional daily life of the Endemic Disease Control Agents in the municipality of&#xD;
Mamanguape - PB, having as a guideline question to understand how Mathematics is present&#xD;
in the work practices of these professionals and what implications this presence has for the&#xD;
teaching of Mathematics in High School. The study was based on Mathematics Education in a&#xD;
contextualized perspective, articulated with the valorization of everyday knowledge and the&#xD;
relationship between school and social reality, considering Mathematics as knowledge present&#xD;
in social and professional practices. The research was characterized as qualitative, exploratory&#xD;
in nature, being carried out in the context of the field activities of the Agents to Combat&#xD;
Endemic, with the participation of professionals working in the health surveillance of the&#xD;
municipality. Data were collected through observation of the activities developed in the&#xD;
territory, records of practices related to LIRAa, the use of ovitraps, vector control and larvicide&#xD;
application, as well as descriptive notes on the planning of home visits, organization of routes&#xD;
and analysis of epidemiological indices. The data analysis was developed in an interpretative&#xD;
way, seeking to identify situations in which mathematical concepts were mobilized in&#xD;
professional actions, such as counting properties, estimations, proportionality, calculating&#xD;
dosages, interpreting tables, reading graphs, spatial organization of the territory and analysis of&#xD;
infestation percentages. The results showed that the agents used, in a continuous and functional&#xD;
way, various mathematical knowledge in the planning and execution of their activities, although&#xD;
they often do not explicitly recognize these actions as mathematical practices. It was observed&#xD;
that Mathematics manifested itself in a concrete way in the organization of work, in decisionmaking in the field, in the analysis of epidemiological data and in the definition of strategies to&#xD;
control endemics, demonstrating a strong relationship between mathematical knowledge and&#xD;
social reality. It was also found that the professional practices of the agents presented a&#xD;
significant approximation with the mathematical contents worked in High School, especially in&#xD;
the fields of Numbers, Quantities and Measures and Statistics, which reinforced the pedagogical&#xD;
potential of the daily life of these professionals for the contextualization of teaching. It was&#xD;
concluded that the work of the Agents to Combat Endemic Diseases constitutes a legitimate&#xD;
space for the mobilization of mathematical knowledge and that the valorization of these&#xD;
practices can contribute to a more meaningful, contextualized and socially relevant&#xD;
Mathematics Education, by bringing school knowledge closer to the concrete experiences lived&#xD;
in the Community.
