Abstract: This study analyzes how Sephardic identities are constructed and updated in contemporary
Northeastern Brazil, based on the relationship between family trajectories and the historical
presence of New Christians in the region. This qualitative, bibliographic, and documentary
study starts from the hypothesis that this identity does not correspond to the intact preservation
of a past, but to a process of selecting, interpreting, and transmitting historical and religious
references. The corpus comprises books, articles, theses, dissertations, institutional data, and
audiovisual productions, examined through documentary analysis and bibliographic review,
combined with an anthropological approach to memory and religion. The results indicate that
surnames, domestic customs, celebrations, sites such as the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue, and
narratives of return function as repertoires of memory, without constituting genealogical proof
in isolation. The study concludes that Sephardic belonging is produced through the articulation
of history, cultural memory, religion, and social recognition.

Principais aspectos sobre a noção de cultura em julgamentos de pessoas indígenas na Paraíba

Abstract: This article constitutes na exercise in argumentation concerning the main aspects of thenotion of culture in judgments involving Indigenous peoples, based on empirical research conducted in Paraíba. The primary scope for identifying criminal proceedings and respective judicial decisions was limited to the State Court of Justice (TJPB) and the Potiguara and Tabajara ethnic groups, in situations of accusation, imprisonment, or serving a sentence. The results were surprising not hou because of the finding of invisibilization; nor due to the expected repetition of the outdated notion of ‘assimilation-acculturation-integration’ foundin most criminal jurisprudence involving indigenous peoples; but, above all, because of the‘appearance’ of numerous cases with “indigenous markers” in the TJPB and at least five thousand indigenous individuals from three other ethnicities: Pankaxuri, Warao, andKariri, assisted by Funai/CR-JPA, in addition to the Potiguara and Tabajara. However, it is in the confrontation between the jurisprudence of a habeas corpus (an artifact sociotechnical tool)and the ethnographic field that the analysis from a proceduralist perspective is situated.

Abstract: This study focuses on the daily practices of Dona Geralda Ciríaco, a resident of the
São Francisco village in the municipality of Baía da Traição, examining the activities that
constitute her everyday life and are essential for maintaining social relations. The aim is to
understand how the knowledge she applies through practices within the village setting is
fundamental to community relations. The research was conducted employing participant
observation and a theoretical framework grounded in anthropology. These daily practices not
only perpetuate knowledge but also serve as key elements for social cohesion and the sharing
of principles that organize the culture, thereby reaffirming the central role of indigenous
women.

Título: Justiça reprodutiva, cuidado e mulheres quilombolas no Quilombo Ipiranga - Paraíba
Autor(es): Silva, Jamile Godoy da
Orientador: Oliveira, Luciana Maria Ribeiro de
Abstract: The article aims to highlight the experiences of four Black quilombola women from
Quilombo Ipiranga, in Paraíba, emphasizing the importance of their care practices and their
relationship with Reproductive Justice. The community consists of 137 families who, for
over 200 years, have been engaged in family farming and fishing, while maintaining
diverse cultural activities that strengthen their identity and traditions. The methodology is
based on collaborative ethnography, with an emphasis on listening to the life histories of
women in the community. The focus is on narratives of women who face challenges in
accessing public healthcare, revealing social and racial inequalities such as obstetric
violence and the absence of a maternity facility in the municipality of Conde-PB. The
theoretical framework draws on anthropology and Black feminist scholarship, aiming to
4
expand the discussion on sexual and reproductive rights from an ethno-racial perspective.
The findings demonstrate that, despite these difficulties, women organize and resist by
promoting care practices that strengthen their identities and subjectivities. The
ethnographic research concludes that the exchange of experiences and the valuing of
personal histories are essential for the development of public policies focused on reparation
and the promotion of these women's dignity.
