Título: Por uma voz dos oprimidos na sala de aula : Lima Barreto o cronista das mazelas sociais da primeira república
Autor(es): Rodrigues Neto, José Cândido
Orientador: Santos Neto, Martinho Guedes dos
Abstract: This work is bibliographic in nature and aims to construct an interpretation of the condition of
Black people during the First Republic period, based on the work Recordações do Escrivão
Isaías Caminha (Memoirs of the Scribe Isaías Caminha), written by Lima Barreto, directing
our interpretation towards the construction of a pedagogical tool, which will be a didactic
sequence. We hope that this work, through the pedagogical tool developed, will enable the
delivery of history lessons that seek to break with the vision of hegemonic groups and allow for
a history seen from below, giving visibility to groups that have been marginalized by traditional
historiography. Given this intention, we seek to discuss the elements used by Lima Barreto to
address the issue of the exclusion of Black people during the First Republic period; while also
presenting approaches that, when used in the classroom, can contribute to a less hegemonic and
more pluralistic view of history. In addition to using the book Recordações do Escrivão Isaías
caminha as the corpus of this work, we also used other works by Lima Barreto, such as Crônicas
escolhidas (1995) and Triste Fim de Policarpo Quaresma (2004). We used works by authors
who have studied the life and work of Lima Barreto, as well as his historical context, such as
Prado (1989), Lilia Schwarcz (2017), and Barbosa (2017). We also used the concepts of
Thompson (2001) and Sharpe (1992) on history seen from below, and Walter Benjamin's (1985)
assumptions of giving visibility to the forgotten. In effect, we hope that this work can contribute
to the interpretation of the First Republic period, using Lima Barreto's literature as a guiding
thread for a more pluralistic history in the classroom.

Autor(es): Gondim Júnior, Delano Marcus Coutinho
Orientador: Maior Júnior, Paulo Roberto Souto
Abstract: This research primarily aims to study LGBTQIAPN+ youth cultures as protagonists and
historical subjects in High School History classes at the Escola Técnica Estadual de Artes,
Tecnologia e Economia Criativa Poeta Juca Pontes. To this end, it focuses on the
emergence of the 'Nós Também' gay movement in the city of João Pessoa during the 1980s.
It is argued that this content can serve as a historical reference for students engaged in
LGBTQIAPN+ school youth culture. Furthermore, this research delves into the discussion
of the silencing of histories regarding dissident sexualities. As a means to (re)compose this
historiography, it will be integrated into the actual curriculum of History classes for the
development of teaching materials in the form of a booklet concerning LGBTQIAPN+
history and experience in João Pessoa. Thus, this study expects to provide historical
learning and foster the recognition of the past of dissident sexualities, thereby
deconstructing prejudices and promoting inclusion within the
school environment.

Autor(es): Nascimento, Cristina Lúcia Brito
Orientador: Pessoa, Ângelo Emílio da Silva
Abstract: This research proposes a reflection on slavery in the city of João Pessoa, based on observations of the São Francisco Cultural Center, using an approach focused on Youth and Adult Education (EJA). The goal is to promote heritage education and the teaching of local history as tools for building critical awareness in students about the slave-owning past and its impact on the present. Through visits and analyses of historical remains, the study aims to promote the recognition of Afro-Brazilian memory, stimulating debates on resistance, identity, and social rights. By exploring historical spaces with a critical and participatory perspective, students become active agents in reconstructing silenced history and combating persistent inequalities. As a tool for collecting the results obtained from the visit, the students produced a report sharing their impressions of the field class in order to demonstrate the results of the study of the environment.

Título: O quinze de novembro e a república brasileira : conceitos e aprendizagem nas aulas de história com quadrinhos
Autor(es): Silva, Natalia Viana Alves
Orientador: Santos Neto, Martinho Guedes dos
Abstract: The implementation of the Brazilian republican system brought a new political, economic, and social
perspective to the country. The main research will address the process of the Proclamation of the
Republic and its consequences, seeking to understand the factors that led to the implementation of
November 15th (1889). The key concepts that will guide the research are oligarchy, coronelismo, the
vote of the cabresto (a vote of the cabresto), and citizenship, aiming to highlight the victorious republican
model. The work intends to use comics, specifically "The Empire Falls! I'll See the Republic!" by Angeli
and Lilia Schwarcz, to help 9th-grade students better understand the Republic. Recognizing the gap in
textbooks regarding the republican system, the research proposes creating comics in the classroom as a
way to deepen and improve students' understanding of this content. Throughout the text, the transition
from the Empire to the Republic will be discussed, analyzing the changes this new political system
brought to society at the time. The Theoretical Methodological support that will be present in the
discussions is based on the studies of Carvalho (2017), Viotti (1999), Schwarz (2009), Napolitano
(2016), Fausto (1992) e Dolhnikoff (2005).
