      <description>Título: Invisibilidade da tradução e do tradutor : uma análise em booktoks
Autor(es): Paz, Natália de Deus
Orientador: Assis, Roberto Carlos de
Abstract: This monograph presents a qualitative research that investigates the translator's invisibility in&#xD;
literary translation context. It focuses on new media critics on the TikTok platform, specifically,&#xD;
in the literary community known as booktok. The work aimed to analyze literary reviews of&#xD;
translated books; check how often the translation and translators are mentioned in the videos;&#xD;
verify which other power agents are included; check, in the respective videos, if they mention&#xD;
the books are translated; and establish a relationship with the issue of the translator's invisibility&#xD;
(Venuti, 1995) and the concept of patronage (Lefevere, 1985 apud Martins, 2010). The research&#xD;
consisted of an analysis of 26 video reviews, posted between 2023 and 2024, which went&#xD;
through stages of data collection, treatment and analysis, aided by the AntConc tool. The&#xD;
research concluded that this invisibility reflects the devaluation of the translator's role in the&#xD;
publishing market, even in new media.

Abstract: There are many opportunities for freelance translators in the ever-expanding Language Services Industry. However, few undergraduate translation students are aware of how to break into it. This bachelor’s dissertation discusses translation as a profession. It touches on Translation Competence (Hurtado Albir, 2017; EMT, 2017; Galán-Mañas; López-García; Souza Júnior, 2023), education, translators’ working conditions, resumés, portfolios, prospecting for clients, etc. This bachelor’s dissertation is based on the author’s professional and academic experience, as well as on works by McKay (2011; 2015; 2017), Said (2013), Whitty (2014; 2017), and Compan (2020), among others. We can conclude that independence, proactivity, critical thinking, and commitment to learning are essential for translators. At the end of this bachelor’s dissertation, we offer suggestions of resources to assist in developing Translation Competence. We also present a Translation Industry jargon glossary.

Abstract: This research is an autoethnography aimed at describing and analyzing the&#xD;
process of creating the book Apenas Histórias, a commented translation of Rudyard&#xD;
Kipling's Just So Stories, spearheaded by students from the undergraduate program in&#xD;
Translation Studies at the Federal University of Paraíba. As a student of the program&#xD;
who also acted as translator and editor, I explore my personal and professional&#xD;
experience throughout the translation, editing, and publication journey. This study&#xD;
explores the underlying aspects of the translation process that led to the publication of&#xD;
the work, highlighting its beginning, the challenges faced, the collaboration among&#xD;
translators, the applied learning, and the further development of the translation skills of&#xD;
those involved. The accounts provided here can be used as a source of research and&#xD;
information for those interested in the fields of Translation Studies.

Autor(es): PEREIRA, Welison Douglas dos Santos
Orientador: ASSIS , Roberto Carlos de
Abstract: The aim of this monograph is to map the theoretical framework used in the Postgraduate&#xD;
Program in Translation at the University of Brasília (POSTRAD/UnB). First, 153 dissertations&#xD;
were collected. Next, the references contained within these dissertations were extracted and&#xD;
stored in a corpus in spreadsheet format, along with the publication data for the corresponding&#xD;
dissertation. Analysis of this corpus enabled the identification of the most frequently cited&#xD;
authors and works in the context of the program. This data and other findings are then explored&#xD;
and presented in graphs. Examination of the data revealed that the main authors found in the&#xD;
program's theoretical framework are linked to the field of translation. When looking at the most&#xD;
cited authors, evidence pointing to the androcentrism and Eurocentrism of the disciplinary field&#xD;
was found.
