In this context, academic mobility is essential for intercultural education, as it enables exchange and dialogue between individuals from different cultures and with multiple language skills. The objective of this research was to investigate, describe, categorize, and systematize the opportunities and challenges associated with the cooperation agreement between the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB) and the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). The methodology adopted was predominantly based on a qualitative approach, with bibliographic and documentary procedures, complemented by the author's experience report. This study is justified by the need to critically understand the challenges and potential of international cooperation agreements, especially with regard to democratizing access to academic mobility. The results present proposals for improving the academic agreement, which may serve as a basis for future agreements and research. In the academic sphere, the work contributes to the strengthening of international cooperation agreements in Brazilian universities, offering theoretical and practical support for the qualification of these partnerships. For society, the research highlights the importance of internationalization policies in public educational institutions, by providing opportunities to people who would otherwise not have the personal or financial means to participate in an institutional exchange. On a personal and professional level, the research proves to be fundamental in highlighting how experiences in international contexts contribute to the transformation of critical thinking, the strengthening of empathy, and the development of sociocultural and linguistic skills. The research results indicate the need to formalize a new base agreement between UBA and UFPB, to detail partnerships with each UBA center, and to guarantee fee exemptions for exchange students under the agreement. It also highlights the inclusion of administrative technicians in exchanges and the encouragement of inter-university collaborative projects, with funding and institutional recognition. The research starts from the question of how professionals in Foreign Languages Applied to International Negotiations (LEA-NI) contribute to intercultural mediation and the defense of the rights of these peoples. The motivation for the study stems from academic and extension experiences lived by the author with indigenous immigrants, through projects such as CONTEMP, the Yaotasaba Warao solidarity economy course, and I COMIGRAR PB, all carried out at the Federal University of Paraíba. The methodology used is qualitative in nature, exploratory and descriptive, using the textual genre of experience reports, based on bibliographic references. In addition, the work is guided by the principles of human rights, based, among other documents, on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (2007). Finally, the study seeks to offer theoretical and practical contributions to the formulation of fairer and more intercultural reception strategies, highlighting that care and mediation with indigenous migrants must take into account linguistic, cultural, and institutional aspects in an integrated manner. From the research, it was possible to observe the importance of English for Specific Purposes in the training and qualification of professionals in the tourism and food sectors. Para ello se estudiaron los conceptos de lengua, cultura e identidad, relacionándolos con el uso de la lengua catalana como herramienta de afirmación cultural. Además, se analizó la importancia de utilizar las políticas lingüísticas en el ámbito académico para la normalización y promoción de la lengua catalana. La metodología utilizada fue de carácter cualitativo y exploratorio-descriptivo. En cuanto a la naturaleza de los datos analizados, se analizaron fuentes bibliográficas de autores que estudiaron el tema, así como fuentes documentales como documentos públicos y estatutos de las Universidades de Barcelona y Girona. Como referente teórico de los conceptos de lengua, cultura e identidad cultural se utilizaron textos de Coelho y Mesquita (2013), Silva (2000) y Canedo (2007), entre otros. Para los conceptos de políticas lingüísticas se utilizaron las definiciones de Lagares y Savedra (2012) y Canedo (2007). Los resultados indican que el uso de políticas lingüísticas en diversos ámbitos de la sociedad, especialmente en el ámbito académico, proporcionó la recuperación de la identidad cultural en la región de Cataluña y un aumento del número de hablantes de la lengua catalana, dentro y fuera de sus fronteras geográficas.
