Abstract: In the contemporary world, it is estimated that 14% of the world's population is affected
by some type of mental disorder, depression appears among the most common.
Depressive symptoms and signs can be isolated or somatized, the most common of
which include tiredness, lack of motivation, and inability to feel pleasure in life.
Depressive symptoms reflect on different areas of the individual's life, such as work,
leisure and social life, causing social isolation. The Unified Health System-SUS has a
network of services and professionals for mental health care, which promotes the
individual's recovery, reintegration and quality of life. Body practices are part of a set
of strategies that aim to improve the health and well-being of individuals, and assist in
physical and mental recovery, bringing benefits to self-esteem, motivation, and social
interactions. Therefore, the present study had the general objective of analyzing the
perception of users with depressive symptoms of a Psychosocial Care Center on the
contribution of bodily practices in the development of self-perception and social
interaction. This is a qualitative study, and the technique chosen was Content Analysis
proposed by Bardin. In total, 06 subjects were interviewed, 05 men and 1 woman, all
participating in the body practices of the Psychosocial Care Center - CAPS II - Doctor
Edimilson Cunha Melo in the municipality of Sapé-PB. The inclusion criteria were: a)
agreeing to participate in the study voluntarily; b) be at least 18 years old; c) be a
person who presented depressive symptoms diagnosed by the CAPS II service in the
city of Sapé-PB. The survey results demonstrated that respondents have a positive
perception of their self-esteem, despite depressive symptoms. By participating in
bodily practices, they significantly contributed to the subjects' social interaction,
reducing isolation. The users' experience with bodily practices helped to alleviate the
whirlwind of feelings and limitations arising from depressive symptoms, reflecting on
sensations, family relationships, and social coexistence. In this way, the relevance of
bodily practices in the therapeutic project of people suffering from depressive
symptoms can be seen. Furthermore, the research findings highlight the relevance of
the Physical Education Professional in the care team for people with mental disorders.
From this perspective, the study also points to the importance of greater investments
in the field of Mental Health, to offer better service conditions to users.

Abstract: Assuming teacher well-being as a relational product, possible in everyday school life, despite
the many unfavorable conditions and situations within its reach, this work problematized the
investigation of how teacher well-being occurs in educational situations. Through the Pedagogy
of Corporeality, the guiding question was defined as follows: what aspects of the “personal
ecology of teaching”, within the context of guidance situations, contribute to promoting the
well-being of the Physical Education teacher? We aimed to analyze the production of teacher
well-being, in the “Situations of Teacher Orientation Movement”. The research participants
were three Physical Education teachers of Elementary School I of the Municipal Public
Network of João Pessoa-PB, with different working times in their teaching career. To obtain
data in this qualitative research, we used the technique of direct observation and semi-structured
interviews, using as instruments: observation script, field notebook and imagery records
(photography and filming of classes). With the observation of 10 classes, for each teacher,
therefore 30 class hours, observed and analyzed, we describe the existing ambience in the
different situations of teaching movement, from the design of analytical semiotics, Scriptural
method, constituted by the actional, semantic and hermeneutics of the Pedagogy of
Embodiment: we categorize the educational situations of guidance existing in the Physical
Education class; we verified the relationship between the educational situation of guidance and
the production of teacher well-being/discomfort and we characterized the educational situations
of guidance that favor Teacher Well-Being. The analyzes showed us that, in the exercise of
teaching, the attitudes towards oneself, explicit in the communicative settings of sound, visuals
and gestures created by the teacher, reflect, above all, the ambience of their class, which may
or may not produce a favorable educational environment to student learning, and therefore to
teacher well-being. Soon, we realized that, among the collaborating professors investigated, it
was possible, through the constituents of the Personal Ecology of Teaching, to identify which
were the generating factors of professor well-being.

Abstract: INTRODUCTION: Running has progressively increased its generation in the past few
decades, including among recreational practitioners. Sports scientists point out that
strength training (ST) is an effective strategy for reducing the incidence of sports
injuries and improvement in performance parameters in medium and long-distance
runners. OBJECTIVE: To examine the presence of strength training in the practice of
recreational runners, understanding its characteristics and the perception of these
runners about its importance for performance. METHODS: A sample of 801
recreational runners, male (n=493) and female (n= 308), aged between 18 and 73
years (M= 39.05 ± 9.63); weight (74.53 ± 13.64 kg); height (170 ± 0.91 cm) BMI
(M=25.31 ± 3.67 kg/m2), residents of the nine capitals of northeastern Brazil answered
questions about their training habits, the means used was a structured questionnaire
with validation affected content. The statistical test used was the Chi-square of
independence to verify possible associations between categorical variables. Four
distinct performance levels were determined using a quartile adjusted for sex, age, and
best time taken at the 5km distances. RESULTS: In this study, 78.0% (n=625) perform
some type of strength training, there was a statistically significant difference only for
the prevalence of male runners who include RT in their training routine, when
compared between performance levels (82.7% in the 2nd quartile vs. 52.6% in the 4th
quartile). Regarding the characteristics of the TF, 49.4% (n=310) perform between 3
and 4 sessions per week of TF through weight training and the majority 62.8% (n=394)
perform the sessions on alternate days to the training of racing. As for the importance
attributed to the TF, the vast majority 537 (85%) of the runners consider strength
training very important to improve performance. CONCLUSION: The majority of
runners include some form of TF. When comparing the different performance levels,
only among male subjects was a higher prevalence of runners with a higher
performance level that includes some type of TF was observed. These results can be
used by coaches to clarify the involvement of runners with different types of TF at
different performance levels.

Abstract: This study compared the acute effect of different conditioning activities, using the smith
machine squat, on vertical jump height, with high and moderate loads, varying volume.
Thirteen trained women (27 ± 2,41 years; 59,3 ± 6,99 Kg; 158, 77 ± 5,93 cm of height;
26,17 ± 2,41 % of fat, com 7,61 ± 2,93 years of experience e relative RM (RM/massa
corporal) of 1,47 ± 0,23 Kg), completed eight sessions – being the last four the
experimental conditions (60% of 1RM with 10 or 30% velocity loss, 85% of 1RM for 3
repetitions and control). The variable analysed was the countermovement jump height,
before and after the squat. The interval between the squat and the coutermovement
jump was self-selected for each participant. Mixed ways ANOVA showed no significant
differences between the experimental conditions. Cohen’s d effect size showed a small
effect amongst all variables, with values of 0,056, 0,134 and 0,133 for the experimental
conditions of 10 and 30% velocity loss and 85% of 1RM, respectively. Applying one
set of smith machine squat with moderate loads and low and moderate velocity loss in
women with strength training experience did not result in significant improvements in
the subsequent vertical countermovement jump. Futhermore, it can be concluded that
high loads with fixed volume also did not result in a statistical gain in the vertical jump.
