Título: Educação ambiental e cidadania: a importância da educação ambiental enquanto tema transversal na Escola João Silveira Guimarães
Autor(es): Félix, Renata Soares
Orientador: Zárate, Eliete Lima de Paula
Abstract: The study analyzes the importance of Environmental Education as a transversal
theme in promoting citizenship among students, focusing on the João Silveira
Guimarães School in São Bento-PB, Brazil. The research combined a literature
review with questionnaires to assess perceptions and practices related to this topic.
The results show that, although students recognize the importance of Environmental
Education, the content is often approached in a theoretical and superficial way, with
limited practical applications. Most students see Environmental Education as an
awareness-raising tool, but their responses indicate a narrow understanding
influenced mainly by external sources, such as the internet. The analysis highlights
that the lack of specific training for teachers and insufficient resources make an
interdisciplinary approach difficult and limit the implementation of practical activities.
The absence of concrete projects, such as school gardens and recycling programs,
was noted as a significant barrier to students' internalization of environmental
problems. The study concludes that, to promote critical and engaged citizenship,
there is a need for investment in teacher training and improving school
infrastructure. The effective integration of Environmental Education as a transversal
theme can help to cultivate students who are environmentally aware and capable of
applying their knowledge in sustainable actions. This approach would allow students
to serve as multipliers of environmental practices within their communities,
reinforcing the broader educational goal of sustainability.

Abstract: The inclusion of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Science education is
essential to ensure an education that promotes the emancipation and role of these individuals
in society. The educational approach for this population must ensure respect for each student's
needs and potential. Although Brazil has made progress in recent decades in ensuring the
inclusion and retention of these students in regular education in basic education schools
through the approval of legal provisions and the promotion of public policies, there are many
challenges to be overcome in this scenario. Therefore, this study aimed to identify whether
science and biology teachers working in the city of Ibiara, Paraíba, have knowledge about
Autism Spectrum Disorder and the relevant training to provide services to students with ASD
in basic education. To this end, a qualitative, exploratory, and descriptive study was
conducted. The data collection was conducted through document analysis and interviews with
a group of elementary school teachers who have students with ASD in their classrooms. The
results revealed a lack of municipal documents establishing guidelines for the inclusion of this
population in schools, as well as a lack of public policies capable of guaranteeing the rights of
students with ASD. Analyzing the questionnaires completed by teachers, we observed a gap in
their training. Despite this, the teachers demonstrated a commitment to promoting inclusive
education. Therefore, we conclude that research of this nature is important, as it allows us to
identify challenges in the science education of students with ASD that can be overcome, thus
strengthening inclusive education.

Título: Contribuições do ensino de ciências e biologia para alunos com Transtornos do Espectro Autista (TEA)

Orientador: Zárate, Eliete Lima de Paula
Abstract: This undergraduate thesis is a literature review that primarily aims to investigate, through
published research, the contributions of science and biology education from the perspective of
the inclusion of students with TEA, seeking improvements in special educational practices and
promoting an inclusive environment for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. To construct
this work, it was necessary to gather and summarize prior information on the topic. For this
purpose, electronic databases such as Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library Online
(SciELO), Virtual Libraries, and Scientific Journals recognized in national and international
educational sciences literature were essential sources. Seven relevant studies were selected for
analysis and discussion, focusing on science and biology teaching for students with TEA. The
relevance of this topic is undeniable given the growing need to provide a more inclusive
educational environment tailored to the specific needs of students with TEA. An innovative
approach demonstrates how flexibility and the integration of new technologies can maintain the
school bond and continue to promote learning, even under challenging circumstances.
Creativity and adaptation are, therefore, essential for the effectiveness of inclusive education.
As a result, it is believed that to achieve effective learning in science and biology, it is essential
to adopt strategies and methodologies that make abstract concepts more understandable for
students with autism. This involves the inclusion of diverse and innovative methods, such as
the use of different teaching models, activity sequences, hands-on classes, and digital
technologies. These approaches help overcome learning difficulties and foster more
comprehensive student development, especially for those with TEA, bringing them closer to
fuller social participation in accordance with educational guidelines.

Abstract: This paper, titled "Ethnobotany in Academic Research in the Field of Education,
Especially in Undergraduate Courses," aims to analyze this topic through qualitative
research based on a literature review, seeking to understand the importance of this area
of knowledge and its scope in undergraduate programs. By integrating traditional and
scientific knowledge, ethnobotany contributes significantly to the appreciation of
biodiversity, the recognition of popular knowledge, and the promotion of critical and
contextualized environmental education. The methodology consisted of a review of
studies and academic research available on websites and scientific journals that present
and address ethnobotany, which has been used in teacher training courses. The study
highlights the pedagogical potential of this approach for the production of teaching
materials that foster the connection between local knowledge and the school curriculum,
strengthening interdisciplinary teaching and bringing schools and communities closer
together. This reinforces the importance of expanding the debate on the inclusion of
ethnobotany in initial teacher training, proposing paths for new research and more
integrative and sustainable educational practices.
