Abstract: Strength training (RT) has established itself as one of the most popular training
modalities, aiming to improve physical fitness and promote the conditioning of
athletes and practitioners. However, for a RT program to achieve its objectives,
it is essential that training loads are carefully determined. The traditional 1RM
test is considered the gold standard for assessing maximum strength, but it is
not always practical or feasible. With this in mind, predictive equations offer a
convenient alternative, but it is essential to evaluate their accuracy in
comparison with the actual results of the 1RM test. Therefore, the objective of
this study was to investigate the accuracy of the main predictive equations,
when compared to the 1RM test in trained women. The research was classified
as quantitative. The sample consisted of twenty-four female individuals; aged 18
to 35 years, apparently healthy, with a mean age of 25.7 ± 4.0 years, weight
61.6 ± 5.0 kg and height 162.5 ± 4.0 cm. The variables investigated were 1RM
(1 repetition maximum) and RM (maximum repetition) being measured by the
following instruments: data collection regarding workloads will be performed in
two moments: (a) load referring to the 1-RM test; and, (b) load referring to the
submaximal test and its respective number of repetitions. The data were
analyzed quantitatively using Excel software (Microsoft, 2016) analyzed using
the computerized statistical package Statistical Package for the Social Sciences
(SPSS) version 25.0 through the analysis of variance, it was found that there
was no significant difference (p > .05) between the results of the equations and
the 1RM test. The coefficients of determination (r) ranged from .988 to .996,
showing a high degree of correlation between the equations used in the study
and the 1RM test. The equations had a low standard error ranging from 5.54 to
5.85 kg. We can conclude, with this work, that the selected equations for
predicting maximum load can be used to predict the 1RM for the Leg Press 450
with a high degree of accuracy in trained women.

Abstract: In recent years, there has been an increase in the demand for weightlifting practice due to various motivational factors. The objective of the present study was to analyze the motivational factors for adherence and continuity in weightlifting practice at a gym in the city of João Pessoa. Methodological aspects: The research is cross-sectional and descriptive, with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 40 individuals of both genders, aged between 19 and 54 years (28.70±9.3 years), who practice weightlifting at a gym in João Pessoa. The variables investigated were the motivational factors for adherence and continuity in weightlifting practice at a gym, through a questionnaire containing questions about sociodemographic aspects and the characteristics of physical activity practice, and a reduced and adapted questionnaire from the "Inventory of Motivation for Regular Physical Activity Practice (IMPRAF-132)" by Balbinotti and Barbosa (2006), with questions related to motivations for adherence or continuity in regular physical activity practice. The data were quantitatively analyzed through descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, and frequency distribution. Results: Regarding sociodemographic characteristics, the majority were single (55.0%), had an income above R$ 2,000.00 (52.5%), were of White ethnicity (47.5%), and had completed higher education (40.0%). Regarding weightlifting practice, most individuals trained for 6 months to 1 year (37.5%), 4 to 5 times per week (67.5%), with a training duration of 61 to 90 minutes (50.0%). 97.5% reported that tracking progress during training is an important motivational factor, and 90.0% said that professional guidance is an important motivational factor. The main motivational factors were: maintaining and/or improving health (100%), aging healthily (100%), experiencing a sense of well-being (97.5%), achieving healthy fitness levels (95.0%), having a defined body (87.5%), reducing anxiety (85.0%), feeling attractive (82.5%). The most prevalent low motivation factors were: competing with others (87.5%), winning competitions (82.5%), and obtaining financial returns (80.0%). Conclusion: It was found that the main factors for adherence and continuity in weightlifting practice were health, aesthetics, pleasure, and stress control. The dimensions with lower motivating potential for weightlifting practice were sociability and competition.

Abstract: More than 40% of the adult Brazilian population is physically inactive, which is one of the risk factors for the development of several diseases. The regular practice of physical activity - PA is efficient in increasing the productivity of workers, reducing errors in work activities, as well as reducing absences and the requirement to present sick note. Knowing the current outlook is necessary to base programs that aim to promote and encourage the regular practice of PA and improve the quality of life of public servants. Therefore, the present study aimed to analyze the level of physical activity and the perceived quality of life of the TAEs public servants of the UFPB CCS. This is a cross-sectional, descriptive research with a quantitative approach carried out with a sample of 25 TAEs public servants from the UFPB CCS. Through an online form (google forms), the level of physical activity was inquired, estimated through the International Physical Activity Questionnaire - IPAQ in the short version and the perception of the quality of life through the WHOQOL-bref questionnaire. It was found that 92% of the public servants practice physical activity at a moderate or high level and only 8% are insufficiently active. The perception of general quality of life was classified as good, with a score of 70.46, with emphasis on the physical domain with a score of 75.15. It is concluded that policies and programs aimed at improving the quality of life of the UFPB CCS public servants should revolve around the elements that make up the domains that presented the lowest score, those related to the environment, psychological and social relations.

Abstract: Mental fatigue is a psychobiological state characterized by tiredness or lack of energy to
perform a subsequent task resulting from prolonged high cognitive demand. Resistance
training, in turn, which considers training volume as an important variable in its
prescription, is affected by mental fatigue as it negatively influences performance.
Therefore, the present study aimed to explore the effects of mental fatigue on resistance
training, incorporating updated references. Thus, it is a systematic review characterized
as a bibliographic research of existing literature. To search for articles, three electronic
databases (Cochrane Library, PubMed/MEDLINE, and Web of Science) were used.
Additionally, boolean operators "OR" and "AND" were employed, along with terms
related to mental fatigue and resistance training. Only randomized controlled trials
(RCTs) and non-randomized controlled trials were included in the study, based on the
PICOS approach. The PEDro scale was used to assess the methodological quality of the
studies. After the article selection process, twelve articles were chosen. It was concluded
that mental fatigue can negatively influence subjective perception of effort and,
consequently, the number of repetitions performed in a training session.
