Abstract: The increase of the solid waste generation due to the population and industrial growth in the &#xD;
urban centers mobilizes the public management in the duty to act effectively in the &#xD;
management of this waste, since these, if not treated in an environmentally appropriate way &#xD;
imply negative environmental impacts. The present work aims analyze the solid waste &#xD;
management in the city of Coremas (PB). For this purpose, a bibliographic search was carried &#xD;
out in order to know relevant legislation and discuss appropriate forms of municipal solid &#xD;
waste management. Also, interviews with municipal managers responsible for the area were &#xD;
carried out, and questionnaires were applied to the population. According to the managers, in &#xD;
the municipality there are collection services performed by an outsourced company that &#xD;
serves the entire city, health wastes are collected by another specialized outsourced company, construction waste is not the municipality's competence, but are performed and much of the &#xD;
disposal material is reused in landfills. In contrast, the final disposal of Household Solid &#xD;
Waste is in backfill. The conclusion is that some basic points of the National Solid Waste &#xD;
Policy are still not met, such as the existence of a Municipal Solid Waste Management Plan, a &#xD;
plan for selective collection, treatment of waste and final disposal in landfills, as well as &#xD;
education programs environmental, since most of the population approached declared that it &#xD;
does not practice sustainability policies (reduce, reuse and recycle) and does not perform &#xD;
selective collection.

Abstract: The present work has as general objective to analyze the challenges for the effectiveness of &#xD;
the resolution for the continuity of the assistance in the public health sector, considering the &#xD;
basic precepts for a humanized service and guided in the assistance and the construction of &#xD;
values inherent to the human person. Therefore, a review of the literature on the relevance of &#xD;
continuity in care is made possible and allows the health professionals to reflect on the care &#xD;
provided, presenting proposals that enable the resolution, comprehensiveness and &#xD;
universalization of the rights of care in the public health sector. To obtain results, we used a &#xD;
qualitative approach based on the search of electronic databases such as BVS / BIREME, &#xD;
LILACS, MEDLINE and SCIELO, published between 2008 and 2018. The results obtained &#xD;
during the literature review that the greatest challenges for the universalization of public &#xD;
health rights are factors such as lack of integrality, reference and counter-referral, interaction, &#xD;
decentralization of powers, employee turnover and lack of continuity of care in health &#xD;
services, hampered by political factors and investment financial and that can be overcome by &#xD;
the reorganization of the system and public policies that invest in the resolutiveness of the &#xD;
continued assistance as determinant for the universality.

      <title>Participação popular na atenção primária em saúde: fragilidades e potencialidades</title>

Abstract: One of the great advances in the process of democratization in decision-making, in matters &#xD;
related to health in Brazil, was introduced by the Federal Constitution of 1988, when the &#xD;
Unified Health System (SUS) was elaborated and popular participation was established &#xD;
through mechanisms that make representative, among them the health councils. In this &#xD;
context, over the years, it is necessary to observe if the participation of the population occurs &#xD;
in an effective way. This study, therefore, aims to verify the popular participation in subjects &#xD;
that involve the processes of health management in the municipality of Patos, state of &#xD;
Paraíba. In order to do so, it was sought to know the actions of the users of the Unified Health System, more precisely in the first level, the primary health care, in the municipal &#xD;
health councils, verifying if the management mechanisms guaranteed in theory are applied in &#xD;
practice. The results suggest that most users of primary health care do not have the &#xD;
knowledge about a participative management tool so important for all who have an interest in &#xD;
participating in decision making processes involving health issues for the population of the &#xD;
entire municipality.
