Abstract: This thesis aims to analyze the influence of algorithmic awareness on the problematic use of social media and its impact on users' psychological well-being, considering the mediating role of self-regulation and self-efficacy. The study starts from the argument that digital platforms are structured by persuasive algorithm-driven design, capable of shaping behaviors even when consciously perceived by the user. Such perception can strengthen self-efficacy but, simultaneously, compromise self-regulation, favoring problematic usage patterns that reduce psychological well-being. Methodologically, the research was conducted in five stages: (i) a systematic review of the literature to map antecedents, mediators, and consequences of problematic social media use, as well as the main measurement metrics; (ii) a theoretical essay that critically discusses the role of algorithmic platform design and proposes the thesis's conceptual model; (iii) the selection and adaptation of scales validated for the study context; (iv) a survey with 737 respondents, whose data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with DWLS estimator, involving first- and second-order constructs; and (v) the integration of results, with critical discussion of evidence, theoretical and practical implications, limitations, and suggestions for future research. The results confirm that algorithmic awareness has a positive effect on perceived self-efficacy in social media, but at the same time, it increases levels of problematic use, indirectly reducing psychological well-being. The tested model showed satisfactory validity and fit, allowing for advances in the understanding of the cognitive and behavioral mechanisms that connect algorithms, problematic use, and psychological well-being. The thesis contributes by integrating the cognitive dimension of algorithmic awareness into models of problematic social media use, offering theoretical implications by expanding the existing conceptual basis and practical implications by providing support for the development of more ethical digital design strategies and policies. Finally, the study's limitations and directions for future research are presented.

Abstract: This thesis aims to answer the following question, how can Brazilian evangelical churches apply evidence-based management (EBMgt) to optimize their activities and decisions while maintaining their Christian and biblical essence? In short, our thesis argument is that Brazilian evangelical churches need to become aware of this movement and then establish a Christian approach to the rational and Evidence-Based Management (EBMgt) movement. We also argue that by adapting and using tools, concepts, and practices associated with Evidence-Based Managemem, churches can achieve better organizational results and a better fulfillment of their mission. Thus, we proceed to develop a model for applying evidence-based management in evangelical churches. The thesis is structured in five chapters. The first chapter presents the introduction, along with the justifications and objectives of the thesis. Chapter twe approached through a theoretical essay, sought to understand the theoretical and historical context of quantified rationalization and GBE in Brazilian evangelical churches. Thus, we investigated the theoretical and historical foundations surrounding GBE, using the rationalization and quantified rationalization movements as analytical perspectives. Jis this chapter, we pointed out the tensions between the rational ontological foundations of GBE and the spiritual ontological foundations of evangelical churches. Despite these tensions, the results pointed to the theoretical viability of integrating GBE with churches. Chapter three, developed through a theoretical/applied article, aimed to propose a GBE model adapted to the empirical reality of evangelical churches. After discussing the decision-making practices historically used in churches, we identified that, in addition to the four types of evidence proposed in GBE ( scientific, organizational, stakeholder, and practitioner evidence), it would be opportune to add another type of evidence for GBE to have full applicability in the ecclesiastical context. We termed this fifth additional piece of evidence as "spiritual evidence," and we pointed out that it could be of two cutegories: theological evidence and experiential evidence. The fourth chapter, presented as a technological article, aimed to develop, implement, and analyze the impacts of a technological tool (ofhware) built to facilitate the adoption of GBE in evangelical churches. The main results obtained in the study were the development of the platform and the presentation of the lessons learned in the development and implementation process. Although we developed a functional technological platform, we observed that the path to applying GRE in evangelical churches goes beyond the technological aspect and mainly involves process management, cultural changes, and the training of church leaders for the use and application of GBE. Finally, in chapter five, the final considerations are presented, in which we explain the fulfillment of the specific objectives of the thesis and demonstrate the articulation between the studies carried out. In addition, we show the theoretical and practical contributions, the limitations, and suggestions for future research.

      <title>Implicações do ambiente socioemocional de aprendizagem no engajamento acadêmico de estudantes de Pós-graduação em Administração</title>

Abstract: This thesis examines how the socioemotional learning environment (SLE) influences&#xD;
the engagement of graduate students in Business Administration in Brazil. The specific&#xD;
objectives were: (i) to validate the academic engagement scale for the Brazilian&#xD;
context; (ii) to identify the level of academic engagement; (iii) to assess the&#xD;
socioemotional learning environment in graduate programs; and (iv) to characterize&#xD;
the relationships between the SLE and student engagement in the postgraduate&#xD;
context. The central argument is that the SLE directly affects engagement in Brazilian&#xD;
stricto sensu graduate programs. A mixed-methods design was adopted. The&#xD;
quantitative phase comprised three stages: first, a study with 139 master’s students&#xD;
using Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) to examine the structure of the academic&#xD;
engagement scale; second, a study with 190 doctoral students to validate the scale via&#xD;
Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and to test the research hypotheses through&#xD;
Structural Equation Modeling (SEM); additionally, the SLE was analyzed using the&#xD;
What Is Happening in This Class? (WIHIC) questionnaire, previously validated in&#xD;
Brazil. The qualitative phase deepened understanding of the SLE, academic&#xD;
engagement, and their interrelations through 19 interviews with doctoral students,&#xD;
analyzed using a comprehensive–interpretive approach. Quantitative results from the&#xD;
adjusted structural model indicate that the SLE Research dimension positively and&#xD;
significantly influences all engagement dimensions (cognitive, behavioral, emotional,&#xD;
and social), whereas Student Integration influences only social engagement. To&#xD;
characterize the SLE, the WIHIC dimensions-student integration, teacher support,&#xD;
involvement, research, and cooperation-were summarized (means, SD, quartiles) and&#xD;
then compared across groups using the Mann-Whitney U test. Group comparisons&#xD;
showed that men reported higher means in teacher support and involvement, and&#xD;
private institutions outperformed public ones in teacher support, involvement,&#xD;
research, and the overall SLE index. The qualitative phase revealed salient&#xD;
socioemotional challenges (stress, anxiety, loneliness during thesis writing) alongside&#xD;
positive emotions (pride, satisfaction), underscoring the roles of social support (peers,&#xD;
faculty, advisors) and emotional self-regulation in sustaining engagement. Motivation&#xD;
for the doctorate proved multifaceted-initially driven by institutional prestige, vocation&#xD;
for teaching, and a desire for social contribution- yet faced end-stage challenges due&#xD;
to exhaustion and pressure. The thesis concludes that the socioemotional learning&#xD;
environment significantly influences students’ academic engagement. Practically,&#xD;
&#xD;
graduate programs that expand students’ involvement in research, structure peer-&#xD;
integration strategies, and attend to the quality of supervisory relationships tend to&#xD;
&#xD;
foster higher and broader levels of academic engagement.

Abstract: This thesis studies the gratitude developed in the consumer socialization process and its&#xD;
interrelationships with the food consumption of children in the family context in the light of the&#xD;
theories of social practice. The general objective was to analyze the intersections between&#xD;
gratitude practices and children's food consumption practices in the family context that&#xD;
contribute to well-being. The specific objectives were (1) to identify the family's general&#xD;
consumption habits and behaviors, (2) to understand eating routines at home and the&#xD;
development of children's eating practices, (3) to describe the practices of parents and children&#xD;
who express gratitude and (4) discuss actions in the family and social spheres that aim to&#xD;
develope gratitude in childhood and how it can contribute to a more harmonious relationship&#xD;
with the world of consumption. The study adopted the vision of Transformative Consumer&#xD;
Research so that the results generated indicate advances in the well-being of consumers,&#xD;
specifically children. Using a qualitative research perspective, we conducted interviews with&#xD;
&#xD;
10 families, with a total of 23 participants, 11 parents and 12 children. In addition, we used self-&#xD;
photographs of the participants, non-participant observation in supermarkets and media analysis&#xD;
&#xD;
as data collection strategies. Through inferences, based on the technique of content analysis,&#xD;
comparisons, experiences, meanings and messages were evaluated. Thus, we were able to&#xD;
understand that eating practices, related to more general consumption behaviors and gratitude&#xD;
suggests that the virtue of gratitude influence to a more benevolent and altruistic look on&#xD;
caregivers that make them more aware of the responsibility of consumption, whether it is food&#xD;
or not. There is an intention to teach good eating habits and to train future consumers. However,&#xD;
at the same time that we see such an effort, parents often live with the dilemmas of giving&#xD;
unhealthy food to their children, but perhaps due to the characteristic, imposing parenting style,&#xD;
they manage to make concessions and demonstrate flexibility. We note, above all, that the&#xD;
concern with food, which may be related to food literacy, in which all families showed to have&#xD;
a certain understanding on the subject, and the adoption of practices different from those&#xD;
experienced by parents in childhood, has led to the emergence of practices different from those&#xD;
of the past, prioritizing healthy eating, although it is common to consume unhealthy foods&#xD;
(hamburger, french fries, sweets, pizza, etc.) during family leisure time. It is interesting,&#xD;
however, that in the past, family meal times were more common in view of the existence of&#xD;
another economic and work context, but today, although parents think it is important, they face&#xD;
more difficulties to get everyone together at the table. Children, in turn, expressed gratitude in&#xD;
different ways, showing that they are in full moral, social and emotional development, being&#xD;
able to understand situations in which gratitude is socially desired and valued. We could see&#xD;
that in general consumption they learned to relate gratitude to receiving a gift, but more than&#xD;
that, they are being taught by parents about people's appreciation of material goods. It is worth&#xD;
noting, however, that we have not seen a devaluation of material goods, on the contrary, we&#xD;
note the search for recognizing the value and effort made to buy material goods, being&#xD;
acceptable and desirable to see the value of work, and consequently, of the money, developing&#xD;
in the child an awareness that buying is an activity that requires a certain level of effort, so it&#xD;
cannot be done irresponsibly. For this reason, we see words like “save”, “promotion”, “piggy&#xD;
bank”, “research” in their speeches. With regard to food, we saw that gratitude is very much&#xD;
related to the moment of the meal, in which some parents ask their children to thank God for&#xD;
the daily meal, although we note that this is another fulfillment of the parents' request, in view&#xD;
of the required subjectivity. From another point of view, we see that the satisfaction generated in children when having their parents together at meal time causes contentment and joy in them,&#xD;
indicating the reinforcement of social ties. Thus, we found associations of gratitude with the&#xD;
families' food and general consumption behaviors, revealing social practices with meanings&#xD;
that, in the view of the participants, contributed to the achievement of well-being. Finally, we&#xD;
could see throughout the development of this thesis that gratitude can be seen from the point of&#xD;
view of social practice, and, therefore, it would be coherent to see such associations from the&#xD;
so-called “nexus of practices”, revealing that the practices overlap and relate in such a way that&#xD;
create a rhythm and pattern of behaviors that we were unable, at first, to separate one from&#xD;
another, since the conjunction of practices shapes the daily lives of people who see it as a whole.
