Sistema Nacional de Segurança Alimentar e Nutricional (SISAN): avanços e desafios no Estado da Paraíba

Abstract

The objective of this study was to identify and analyze the advances and challenges of implementation as well as the implementation of the National System of Food and Nutrition Security in Paraíba, seeking to know its objectives, instruments and mechanisms of management, as well as to verify the difficult factors in the implementation of the goals Of the food and nutrition security policy in the state. The research was developed through a bibliographical study, direct participation, following the meetings of the SISAN UFPB Universities project, and interviews to better understand the dimensions of the activities developed by the Food and Nutrition Security Management in Paraíba, Food and Nutrition Security Council Of the State of Paraíba (CONSEA) and the Intersecretarial Chamber of Food and Nutrition Security of Paraíba (CAISAN). We can see that the actions carried out by the food and nutrition security policy have contributed positively to the social indicators in the most diverse areas. In view of the challenges, the study shows that despite the progress achieved, it is still necessary to strengthen the food and nutrition security policy in the state and in the municipalities so that it can effectively reduce the food insecurity rate, thus ensuring the human right to food proper.
