Saúde e segurança no trabalho em arquivos na percepção dos profissionais da Fundação Casa de José Américo na cidade de João Pessoa - PB.

Abstract

At the workplace, the dangers are present and are inherent to the type of developed activity, therefore, the adoption of preventive measures, which propitiate the occupational safety, has as its objective eliminate the risky actions and propitiate the health of the professional in the workplace environment, specifically in the archives. The research analyses the professionals’ perception who work in the archives about the risks to their health. This research is characterized as descriptive and exploratory, having quantitative and qualitative approaches for the data analysis. The sample is composed by eight professionals who work at the no Arquivo da Fundação Casa de José Américo and it was used the questionnaire as instrument of research. The results obtained indicate that the majority of the participants of the research are female, being that sixty-two percent of the workers are over thirty-five years old, having higher education level with the graduation in the courses of pedagogy, tourism, administration and languages. They know the risks that exist in the archive where they work at and that t can cause damages to their health and the individual equipment’s of protection aren’t used by everyone who work at the archive, what can cause diseases and damage the health and safety of the professionals.
