Lendo em casa, pelo computador e em celulares: Práticas de leitura dos alunos do 5º ano da Escola Municipal Luiz Vaz de Camões

Abstract

He reports that reading is an essential task for the construction of knowledge, exerting on the individual the power to expand his horizons. It shows the importance of the school library to encourage and develop in the child the taste for reading, with a diversified collection, and with the presence of the librarian to develop projects with the school to encourage reading. It is a research whose objective is to analyze the reading practices of students of the 5th year of Luiz Vaz Municipal School of Camões The research is exploratory and descriptive, being a qualitative-quantitative approach. It includes a bibliographical research to compose the literature review and a field research, using a questionnaire with open and closed questions. The results show the profile of the students studied, their reading practices and their use of the library. Most students report that they read every day. They read why they like it. His reading preferences are books and comics and the genre of poetry. They enjoy reading at home, on the computer and on the cell phone, as well as on the tablet. Realize that reading means learning and imagination. They attend the library daily, although most do not use the loan service. They use the school library to study and / or perform school work and read or consult books. They want the library to have computers and have a wider space. It is concluded that both the lack of investments in the library and the lack of projects to encourage reading make difficult the reading practices of the students studied in this research.
