| Abstract: | The growing importance of entrepreneurship, coupled with the progress of science and technology, resulting in a relation of fundamental importance in economic development. There is no consensus among researchers on a definitive concept of entrepreneurship which would, however there is no doubt about its relationship with economic development, job creation and income, innovation in products and services, improving competitiveness and the possibility of career a significant part of the labor force. It should be noted that the importance of the work of higher education institutions, particularly in courses of Management, promote entrepreneurial training to students who have the goal of opening his own company and, in parallel, the current incentive entrepreneurs who lack formal education, to seek in educational institutions, the learning that will complement their practical knowledge. In this context, the objective of this research is to investigate the potential of entrepreneurial academic course Management from Universidade Federal da Paraíba, as well as interference in the course of entrepreneurial students. To achieve this study corresponds to a quantitative survey, a questionnaire was administered to students in the course, in which it was possible to raise what are the perceptions regarding their managerial skills, assess the degree of relevance to the professional profile of facing bureaucratic administrator, executive, and entrepreneur and analyze the perception of institutional support, and security interest in undertaking. Results show that most of the students would like to start a business or own business, but there is no incentive on the part of the university, demonstrated by the lack of support the building of multidisciplinary teams lack the incentive to develop creative ideas and to undertake no infrastructure to support the opening of new businesses. The current Administration is also deficient in that sense, because it does not provide knowledge or develop skills necessary to start and manage a micro or small business. Nevertheless, it was clear that in the opinion of respondents is very important that the university actively promotes the process of opening new businesses. What was found in the research is that the course is not attuned to the perspectives of their customers (students), are not preparing professionals for specific careers. |
