Dispositivos móveis e desempenho profissional: um estudo sobre byod e consumerização de tecnologia de informação.

Abstract

The use of mobile devices like smartphones and tablets is growing every year. People use these devices for various activities, facilitating the user's life. So the use of personal mobile devices to perform activities of daily life has become second nature, which we call consumerization of information technology. Drawing on the use of these devices came a phenomenon called Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), or "bring your own device", where employees of companies are taking their smartphones and tablets to the desktop to help play your professional activities. The objective of the research is to analyze the aspects that are reflected in work performance due to the use of mobile devices in the workplace. The research is quantitative, exploratory and descriptive nature, because it is a topic just yet studied. A questionnaire with objective questions and issues with the Likert scale was used to find out the degree of agreement of respondents in relation to the points raised, which are innovation, flexibility, quality, productivity and cost. A case study was conducted in two companies, SESI and Usina Monte Alegre, both located in the state of Paraíba, the participant sample were 16 employees SESI and 10 employees of the Usina Monte Alegre, thus enabling make a profile analysis and the aspects of each company. It has been found that the use of mobile devices in the two companies greatly influences the performance of its employees, for example, 60% of the employees of the Usina Monte Alegre fully agree that the use of the equipment helps to have more flexibility of time, the remaining 40% partially agree with this. Already 80% of SESI employees, say totally agree that the use of smartphones allows for processes in a better way. Other variables were analyzed and all allow us to interpret that using mobile devices greatly influences the professional performance, allowing developers to innovate in their activities, have more flexibility of time, use less resources of the company, improve the quality of communication between employees without great costs, and other benefits.
