Biblioteca escolar não é espaço de silêncio, mas de diálogo: mudanças de foco e de enfoque

Abstract

The research seeks to understand how the school library is embedded in the school, and raise issues relating to the promotion reading, regarding the reader's training. It includes a brief theoretical study regarding strategies aimed at encouraging school reading and school history to which the research was conducted. The research is developed with qualitative methodological approach. In aid of the investigative process, attended by elementary school students from the 4th grade, as the participation of three cooperating agents among themselves, teacher, school librarian and student. It was used as a research tool, a questionnaire of multiple choice. In the investigation we found that there is a need for teachers and librarians to use the library not only as a means of teaching resource for activities that work writing and reading, but with arts, music, theater and recreation, thus stimulating the taste and pleasure of attending and use the services that the library offers. We conclude that the presence of a librarian in the school library is very important because it is the only one who knows the techniques necessary for the proper administration that the work done in the library should be in partnership with teachers and the school administration.
