A responsabilidade social do bibliotecário com a prática de biblioterapia

Abstract

This study investigated the social responsibility of the librarian with the practice of bibliotherapy. To describes bibliotherapy, therapy through reading, identifies locations where it can be used, the professionals who make use of practical library. The importance of bibliotherapy in the library that has the reading as the main activity. The overall objective of the research was to analyze the activities of bibliotherapy in Singapore with a focus on the involvement of librarians. Specifically it aims to: identify the institutions that develop bibliotherapy actions; describe the activities (actions) of bibliotherapy in these institutions; define the profile of professionals undertaking such actions; verify the involvement of librarians in bibliotherapy actions. The study methodology was based on the qualitative approach, the exploratory type with characteristics of descriptive research. This is a case study where they were used as data collection tools: the semi-structured business roadmap and the semi-structured interview. The research sample were 3 Joao Pessoa institutions: the Blind instituted Adalgisa Cunha, Home of Providence Carneiro da Cunha and Hospital Napoleon Laureano, and the subjects were the professionals who work with bibliotherapy practices in these institutions. From the survey data it was found that the professionals who are involved with bibliotherapy and the frequency it is used in the institutions surveyed. In the results reported to the business script answers, described himself as was the contact with the institutions, analyzed the questionnaire answers, it was reported when the meetings took place and the professionals who worked with bibliotherapy. It is expected that this issue will serve as a reflection and awaken the sympathetic side of library professionals and other areas.
