Percepção discente sobre a influência do estágio supervisionado na formação acadêmico-profissional odontológica da UFPB

Abstract

The present study had as objective to measure the perception of the students of the fifth and tenth years of the undergraduate course in Dentistry of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), on the influence of the supervised internships in their technical-professional training as a Dentist, the consonances with the National Curricular Guidelines, and investigate the interest in working in public health. The quantitative and descriptive study was carried out with students of the fifth and tenth period of the course, through a questionnaire about the importance of the experiences lived in the supervised stages in the public health network, in the development of the skills and competences of the dentist, presented in the National Curricular Guidelines. Participants were 19 students from the fifth period and 24 from the tenth, who in the end reported great importance in the development of most of the skills and abilities of the Dentist required in the DCNs, leadership and administration were cited with little importance by the stages to development. It was demonstrated by 74% of the students in the fifth period and 92% of the students in the tenth, interest in working in the public service. The students of Dentistry of the UFPB reported a great importance of the supervised internships for their professional formation, demonstrating the importance of the relations between Institution of Higher Education and Public Health Services.
