OS IDOSOS EM SITUAÇÃO DE VIOLAÇÃO DE DIREITOS NA PARAÍBA

Abstract

The present study arose from the daily observations of the supervised internship camp at the Complexo Hospitalar Governador Tarcísio Burity - Trauminha, given the existence of a scenario of vulnerability and violations of the rights of hospitalized elderly people. Its general objective is to contribute to the analysis of violations of the rights of the elderly in the state of Paraíba, based on data from the social assistance surveillance of the State Secretariat for Human Development, from the records of dial 123 and from the regional and municipal CREAS. The methodology adopted was based on bibliographic research of the descriptive and documentary type, with qualitative approaches, through secondary data, based on the method of social sciences, historical-dialectical materialism. Analyzing public policies, from the Federal Constitution of 1988, the Systems of Protection and Social Security in Brazil, as well as the National Policy for the Elderly and the Statute of the elderly, became essential for understanding about the elderly person as a subject of rights. Violations of the rights of the elderly are still recurrent, either due to lack of knowledge or due to material denial due to the numerous violations in the family and institutional context. Thus, it was possible to verify that elderly people become increasingly invisible within the social context, which also indicates a significant increase in violations of rights against the elderly. We verified the need to address the theme of intersectoriality, due to the fact that elderly people need a comprehensive view to overcome the fragmentation of public policies, considering individuals in their entirety. Thus, the present work of conclusion of course does not intend to exhaust the analysis about the study of the elderly in situations of violation of rights, but aims to provide a reflection on the elderly person, aiming to contribute as a source of research for other researchers in the study about the theme.
