SEXUALIDADE NA VELHICE: DISCURSO SOBRE O AUMENTO DOS CASOS DE HIV/AIDS NA POPULAÇÃO IDOSA

Abstract

The present work of conclusion of course, addresses the issue of sexuality in old age with a focus on increasing the number of HIV / AIDS cases in the elderly population of Brazil. The aim of this study was to conduct a survey of data regarding the number of people infected with HIV / AIDS, especially the population aged 60 years or over. To this end, a research was carried out with a review of the literature of several authors, based on the reading of scientific articles, books and documents, in addition to consultations on the Internet on sites dealing with the theme. The objective of the study is to make an analysis of the information that helps to understand the reasons why the elderly still suffer so much prejudice and rejection by society in relation to their sexuality, leading to paradigms that make them feel inhibited to look for ways to exploit their bodily desires, as well as to analyze the increase in cases of HIV / AIDS infections in these individuals. The idea of working on the theme arose through observations made during the internship period at Condomínio Cidade Madura in João Pessoa -PB, in which I had the opportunity to experience conversations about the concerns of the elderly regarding the theme of sexuality. It also sought to analyze public policies related to health, as well as the National Policy for the Elderly and the Statute for the Elderly, milestones that proved to be essential for the coverage of information on the rights of the elderly. Still in this perspective, the influence of the family and the LTCF as providers in the care of people over 60 years of agewas addressed. Finally, the research also seeks to analyze the influence of the media in relation to strengthening actions in the fight against HIV / AIDS.Given the above, we came to the conclusion that the elderly still have little knowledge on the topic of sexuality, since they feel inhibited to seek information on the subject for various reasons, including the paradigms imposed by society.
