Percepção de justiça no ambiente de aprendizagem e sua relação com o desempenho acadêmico dos discentes do curso de Ciências Contábeis da Universidade Federal da Paraíba

Abstract

The objective of this work is to search for evidence that allows to identify the relation between the academic performance of undergraduate students in accounting sciences and their perception of justice. Treating individuals fairly in the organization in which they operate is reflected in the legitimacy of the processes and also in the results to which we are submitted. In the teaching environment we have experiences where we are being evaluated, and the individual realizes that this process occurred in a legitimate way, ensuring the learning mechanisms. The present study is classified as descriptive because it portrays the students' perception about Justice in the teaching and learning environment and its relationship with academic performance. The research will be directed to students of the undergraduate course in Accounting Sciences at the Federal University of Paraíba Campus I, where the behavior, motivations, and perceptions of Justice that govern the relationship of students, teachers and the Institution will be studied. During the data collection process, external events occurred that made it impossible to apply the questionnaire so that a greater result could be obtained, due to the pandemic period related to COVID-19, which is still propagated in the world scenario, in view of the the difficult access to platforms and to the public that meets the research demand, the result was verified with the respondents who were willing and had access to the questionnaire. The study also made it possible to perceive that the students' academic performance does not influence their perception of justice. Given the above and the difficulty in obtaining the other answers, in the sample universe of 944 active students, only 72 answered the questionnaire, which represents 7.2% of the target audience. The investigation of the main independent variable, academic performance, indicated a relevant result regarding the student's perception of his performance. The results revealed that 68.1% of the students consider that they have a good academic performance, 20.8% consider that they have an excellent academic performance and only 11.1% claim to have a poor performance. A percentage of 34.7% was presented, confirming that aspects related to communication between teachers and students appear to be the items that most impact students' perception of injustice.
