A SUBJETIVIDADE NEGRA FEMININA EM CONTOS DE MIRIAM ALVES E CRISTIANE SOBRAL

Abstract

The present work proposes through the analysis of the short stories "Um so gole" and "Pixaim", extracted from the works Mulher Mat(r)iz (2011), by Miriam Alves, and O tapete voador (2016), by Cristiane Sobral, respectively, to delineate an investigation on how black female subjectivity is constructed in the two narratives studied. Throughout this work, we will analyze the elements that characterize the protagonism of the female black character in the literary text of contemporary Brazilian black female writers. In addition, we will investigate the narrative strategies used by Miriam Alves and Cristiane Sobral to aesthetically stage the theme of racial violence in its multiple forms, the violence that compromises the self-esteem, the self-image, and the identity of black female protagonists in their different contexts. This work has as theoretical and critical basis: Neusa Santos Souza (1983), Cuti (2010), Maria Nazareth Soares Fonseca (2014), among others.
