SERVIÇO SOCIAL NAS UNIDADES DE SAÚDE DA FAMÍLIA: território, questão social e demandas

Abstract

This course conclusion work aimed to problematize the insertion of social workers in the daily reality of the Family Health Units in João Pessoa-PB. It was proposed to analyze the determinants that affect this need, highlighting the expressions of the social issue, the particularities of the territory and the population's health demands that allow for problematizing the effective insertion and development of the professional work of social workers in these spaces. The theoretical-methodological approach was constituted in the dialectical historical materialism, considering the need to apprehend the structural determinations of the studied phenomenon from the concrete reality. Its guiding contribution was an exploratory research aimed at having greater familiarity with the problem, of a quantitative and qualitative nature, with professionals and users of the Family Health Unit in the Torre neighborhood, where the USF Torre Integrada is located. which served as the locus for the investigative analysis. Data collection was carried out from December 2020 to June 2021, through the use of bibliographic/documentary survey and interviews, aiming to analyze the concrete situations that involve the entire phenomenon in light of their respective quantitativequalitative analyses. for a better understanding of the object of study and its particularities. Thus, through the results obtained, we reaffirm the research assumption that in the territory where the Torre Integrada Family Health Unit is located, expressions of the social issue are placed daily, which are established as social determinants of health and which require, insofar as from an expanded understanding of health, established by the WHO, defining that a complete state of health should consider the physical, mental and social well-being of human beings, where, in this context, the effective performance of social workers is materialized.
