Abstract

This work highlights the ethics issue in the current context, supported by the convictions of several theorists who discuss the theme, in order to determine the links between concepts and practice. It suggests a meticulous look at the conduct of the librarian as an information professional in the digital field, seeking indications that guide him in a more consistent way for the gradual solution of the problems encountered, in addition to making both the professional and the user aware of the ethical standards to be followed, and finally to represent it properly. It proposes to inquire into the presuppositions of the current social context through bibliographical research, having at its core the work of the librarian, who plays the role of mediator between the user and the information through activities related to the planning and organization of materials in different types of media, besides selection, classification, acquisition, registration and cataloging of such materials. It presents as main objective the discussion of the Ethics as part of the behavior inherent to the professional of the information, encouraging actions for the recognition of the conduct of the professional and abilities for treatment of the information.
