POSSÍVEIS REPERCUSSÕES DA PANDEMIA DA COVID-19 NO DESENVOLVIMENTO INFANTIL: UMA REFLEXÃO SOBRE AS RELAÇÕES PAIS E FILHOS À LUZ DA ABORDAGEM CENTRADA NA PESSOA

Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic caused changes in the dynamics of many families, so that the bonds between parents and children showed a tendency to fragility, which possibly negatively affected the process of development and maturity of children. The present study aimed to reflect, in the light of the Person-Centered Approach, how the quality of parental relationships was affected by the pandemic context, and how it may have a negative impact on the healthy development of children. For this purpose, a narrative review was carried out comprising a broad theoretical framework on the subject. It was found that, as a result of the social isolation policy, the overload of home activities together with the vulnerability of this scenario, brought psychic suffering to parents that resulted in inadequate responsiveness to their children. Thus, minors were deprived of the acceptance, acceptance and authenticity necessary for the structuring of a healthy personality, becoming susceptible to a state of incoherence and even the emergence of psychic maladjustments. The research brought up reflections on the importance of ACP contributions to the quality of family relationship from the pandemic context, a theme that can raise new studies based on this same theme, however directed to human relationships of other natures.
