Abstract

It presents the report of experience with the activities carried out during the non-compulsory internship in the archive of the Materials Division of the Administrative Pro-Rectory of the Federal University of Paraíba, from the first day until its partial transfer to the General Archive of the University, which comprises the period From February 2015 to October 2016. It seeks to highlight the indispensable role of interns of the Course of Archivology within the institutions, who provide the necessary assistance for the best development in the work of the archivist and how much their presence is essential in daily life, for supervision and Orientation of the internship. It emphasizes the importance of the University Archives for the construction of the institution's memory and the documentary management to guarantee a quality organizational system and to assure the agility and effectiveness in the information retrieval. It is concluded that the practice has great relevance in the qualification of any professional, but for this it is necessary engagement from the part of the student and recognition of its value by the institution.
