Práticas de higienização para conservação do arquivo do Núcleo de Documentação de Pessoal e Informação da UFPB: um relato de experiência

Abstract

The article intends to present the results of the non mandatory internship in the Personal Documentation and Information Department of the Paraiba Federal University. Analyzed the practice of hygienization, conservation and archiving of the documentary collection of the department, for better recovery, to create a quick and efficient search for the user who needs such information contained in the archiving. Photography records from the practices and observations in the field were made, which will base the research focusing on preventive measures, specifically the hygiene of the documents using simple techniques and instruments of easy acquisition and application. It will be seen that people can contribute for the memory of the individuals or institutions, through the collections in them conserved. In addition to what has been stated, the collaboration of both the information professional and the user in the handling of the document is of utmost importance. The results showed the need to use preservation methods to prolong the information in the archive, and the hygienization of the documents was extremely important for this. We believe that this facilitate the execution of the actions for the Digital Functional Settlement.
