Abstract

This undergraduate thesis in Music Education addresses the learning experiences of musicians from the band Magníficos. The band was founded in Monteiro, PB, and for over 30 years, it has been recognized as a nationally renowned forró band. The research aimed to understand how the musical learning of Magníficos' instrumentalists was developed. The specific objectives focused on characterizing the Magníficos band, identifying the musicians' previous musical experiences, analyzing their motivations and expectations regarding instrument study and participation in the band. The qualitative approach methodology involved semi-structured interviews with four band members and documentary analysis of the band's trajectory. The main findings indicate that understanding the paths taken by the musicians in this band allows us to analyze the factors that contributed to the group's success and recognition, as well as understand the elements that shaped the individual growth and development of the instrumentalists. This research provides insights into the formative elements that the band participants develop, making it an effective space for musical education and learning.
