Intervenção fonoaudiológica precoce na microcefalia: um relato de caso

Abstract

The microcephaly is a congenital malformation, that entails neuro-psychomotor problems which affect the children cognitive development and culminate on the presentation of other problems, like difficulties in speech and language, motor problems, deglutition, and even so, the hearing. This study seeks to verify through a case report, the contributions that early intervention can provide to this public. As objective, this work will analyze the benefits of speech-language stimulation in the linguistic acquisition process. The studies was conducted at the clinical school of Speech Therapy of the institution of origin, through filming that allowed the analysis of the communicative intention, behavior, gestures and look of the child. With this, it was observed that early speech-language stimulation promotes the child's better development and interaction with the environment in which he lives, taking into account his limitations and present greater difficulties.
