Down syndrome (DS) is a chromosomal disorder whose global clinical condition is explained by an imbalance in the cellular chromosomal constitution. In Brazil, 1 case occurs in every 600 births, which means that 8,000 babies are born with SD per year in the country. In this context, Speech-Language Pathology is essential throughout the life of these individuals, especially when it refers to aspects related to oral language acquisition and learning of written language, regardless of the stage of life in which this happens. The objective of this study was to analyze speech-language intervention aimed at Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) in a subject with DS, performing an evaluation based on the Speech Apraxia Assessment Protocol, describing the objectives and procedures of speech therapy aimed at the treatment of CAS and pointing out the contributions of the same in the evolution of the patient. The study participant was a male, 7-year-old student with a diagnosis of childhood apraxia of speech secondary to SD, attended at a speech-language pathology clinic. The data collected during the therapies were described and tabulated, analyzing the efficacy of speech-language therapy in CAS in DS. The evaluation data indicated that the results of the non-verbal praxis of the protocol in the post-therapy application presented better scores, with lower levels of impairment when compared to the results of the pre therapy, as well as the results were positive for the stimulation for the development of the speech, providing important data for a better intervention in the areapt_BR
