Renovação carismática católica e novos movimentos religiosos: aproximações e distanciamentos

Abstract

This research, in the form of a Undergraduate thesis - UT, seeks to relate the themes, based on a succinct bibliographical research, of the history, concepts, reality and characteristics of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (RCC) and the New Religious Movements (NMR), with special attention to the elements of approach and distance. Going through these general and specific objectives, based on bibliographical research, based on authors considered references on the subject, the following hypothesis was proposed, in the form of a question: Is the RCC an NMR separate from the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church? By highlighting four characteristics of each “movement”, it was possible to relate and understand elements that indicate both agreement and disagreement with the hypothesis raised. This allows readers to develop and reflect on their own opinions and respond to the proposed question. Finally, it is clear that there is a field to be explored in the search to obtain more in-depth elements about the relational theme between the RCC and the NMR, as well as to develop in a constant and growing research the hypothetical question about the finding (or not) of RCC as an NMR.
