Maternidade e universidade : desafio quanto a permanência da mãe na Licenciatura em Dança.

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze the challenge of remaining in the Dance Degree at UFPB, as a university mother, with the following specific objectives: i) access to students who were mothers or were already mothers of babies and/or young children within the Dance Degree Course to understand their trajectories as university mothers; ii) identify how many university mothers studying the Dance Degree dropped out of the Course because they were unable to combine motherhood and university; iii) reflect on improvements in the infrastructure in Block C of the CCTA that houses the Degree in Dance that may favor the permanence of university mothers in the Course and; iv) propose the creation of an Arteteca at the CCTA that serves as support for university mothers during their graduation. This work was developed from a qualitative approach, using case study and autobiographical methods as methods, the first of which consists of broad research on the subject addressed, but which allows it to be deepened, opening up new investigative possibilities that start from the same theme; the second, favored bringing to academic work the personal and professional trajectories of those who write, considering that my experiences contributed to the analysis, discussion and reflection of the topic in question. The data analyzed were produced through the application of a questionnaire composed of objective and essay questions sent via Google Forms to each university mother and were analyzed along with my experiences as a researcher, but mainly as a university mother. As partial results, it is clear that the biggest cause of university mothers dropping out of the Dance Degree is the lack of a support network, but also the lack of support from the Institution, for example, in terms of infrastructure. Finally, with the aim of contributing to the permanence of university mothers in the academic space, this work proposes the creation of an Arteteca at the Center for Communication, Tourism and Arts (CCTA), where they can leave their children, serving as a development field study, mandatory and non-mandatory internships, monitoring for CCTA students.
