O protagonismo social das mulheres na constituição e consolidação do ensino de Biblioteconomia na Paraíba de 1969 a 2022

Abstract

The research deals with the social protagonism of women in the constitution and consolidation of the teaching of Library Science in Paraíba, from 1969 to 2022. It aims to verify the trajectory of the teaching of Library Science in the State of Paraíba through documents of the Bachelor's Course in Library Science of the Universidade Federal da having the following specific objectives: a) Identify the teachers of the Bachelor's Degree in Library Science at the Federal University of Paraíba since its foundation; b) Describe the course of consolidation and growth of the Bachelor's Degree in Library Science at UFPB and the contributions and professional actions of the professors in the institution and in the Paraíba scenario of Library Science; c) Synthesize the record of women who were/are protagonists in the implementation and consolidation of Librarianship Teaching in Paraíba in a timeline with the degree and period of linkage of professors to UFPB. The nature of the research is configured as quantitative and qualitative, characterizing itself as a bibliographic investigation with a documental nature. Publications and documents were identified for the collection and gathering of information about the teaching of Library Science in Paraíba, seeking to identify in the records the names and actions of the women who were at the forefront of the implementation process of the Bachelor's Course in Library Science at UFPB. In addition, the women who make up and composed the faculty of the Course, from its foundation to the present day, were identified, as well as the academic training of these professors, their activities in the institution and the period of bond with the institution. From the analysis and organization of the data, given the extension and nature of the project, the representation of the records was structured in the format of a timeline, in which two categories were established: the name of the protagonist teachers and the period they had/ are affiliated with the UFPB. It is concluded that the social protagonism of women in the Constitution and Consolidation of Library Science Teaching in Paraíba, from 1969 to 2022, is notorious. of invisibility, each one of them becoming social protagonists in their areas of activity, and highlighting the need for the representation of women in science, with a view to opening paths for other professors and researchers, inspiring them to continue in the struggle for change in the scientific scenario and for a more open, accessible and inclusive in the science.
