ROSTOS DESFOCADOS: UMA ANÁLISE DO PERFIL LEITOR JOVEM BRASILEIRO A PARTIR DO PNLD E DO BOOKTOK

Abstract

The work analyzes the profile of young Brazilian readers based on the National Textbook Program (PNLD) — Literary Works of 2021 and the TikTok platform, especially in the context of “booktok”. The research investigates popular literary trends among young people, highlighting the interaction between youth culture, digital culture and literary culture. The study proposes a reflection on the importance of literature in basic education and highlights the need for an educational approach adapted to digital times to engage the new generation of readers. Based on the reflections of Cosson (2006; 2014), Hall (2006) and Candido (2004; 2011), the analysis aimed to understand whether there are encounters between the PNLD — Literary Works and the “booknetworks”, exploring the relationship between reading, identity, representation and cultural belonging in the formation of young readers. Twelve books most mentioned and commented on by users of the social network TikTok were identified, three of which were by national authors and nine by foreign literature. From the two profiles outlined, a discussion of similarities and disparities between them was established.
