Potenciais aplicações da inteligência artificial em bibliotecas

Abstract

The present work introduces a study on potential applications of artificial intelligence in libraries. It covers the steps and activities performed on the book, regardless of its physical or digital form of information. It brings some definitions and important points of the history of artificial intelligence, considerations about its use directed to the sphere of information and considerable importance of understanding how the advent and expansion of new technologies have changed behaviors and methods of education and work. The issue of use and treatment of data presents itself as a challenge to those responsible for organizing information. The methodology takes place under the aspect of bibliographic research with a qualitative approach in order to, through other analyses, reflect on the possible uses of Artificial Intelligence. The research has, as general objective, to analyze the existing connections between artificial intelligence and librarianship with its practical applications. It addresses the trends of new technologies under the domain of artificial intelligence along with the changes that may occur with the inclusion of their uses. In order to arouse interest when used in processes carried out by librarians and show systems based on technologies from AI that can be incorporated into libraries. The results from the readings conceived and information obtained indicate that there is a great need to take advantage of technologies driven by Artificial Intelligence, both by librarians and library users. Due to its practicality in technical and intellectual activities, and due to its high level of interactivity, speed and assertiveness, institutions and professionals that incorporate Artificial Intelligence as a support to certain processes will most likely have economic benefits and public adhesion, exponentially improving administrative and social experiences.
