Rede de atenção e suporte à população dissidente de gênero e sexualidade em João Pessoa: dialogando com gestores

Abstract

This course conclusion work described and discussed the services that make up the social support network aimed at the dissident population of genders and sexualities in the city of João Pessoa, identifying possible articulations, powers and challenges through the perspective of the involved managers. importance of building and/or strengthening social support networks in the context of these subjects, as they are able to strengthen protective ties to guarantee rights, as well as better respond to the complexity of the demands brought about by the violence perpetrated against this population, seeking to to mitigate the vulnerability factors to which they are exposed, with a view to their greater autonomy and other possibilities for social participation. For its development, a field research was carried out with the managers of the services/actions that make up the social support network aimed at this population. For the production of data, the interview technique with a semi-structured script was used. To analyze the data from the interviews, the method of content analysis was used, in the categorical modality. From the analysis, 3 thematic categories were extracted: Category 1: Introducing a network under construction: Describing services and actions. Category 2: Strengthening network: advances in public policy aimed at the LGBTQIAP+ population in the State of Paraíba and Category 3: “Our major obstacles are due to institutional LGBTphobia”: challenges for the strengthening and articulation of the inter-institutional network aimed at the LGBTQIAP+ population in the State from Paraíba. It is identified that there is a network that has achieved important advances in the last 2 years, where there are articulations with the municipal and state governments, willing to understand the politics and the particularities of the dissident population. The formalization of a state network to combat LGBTphobia (Help) is evident. The articulation between the different sectors, such as: health, education and social assistance is carried out both at the municipal and state levels; The services have activist managers engaged in strengthening this network; There is a strong dialogue between managements and social movements, as well as a good dialogue with the mayor (in the case of municipal services) and governor (in the case of state services).
