INSUFICIÊNCIA RENAL E CARDÍACA EM BOVINO (ABORDAGEM SEMIOLÓGICA E RELATO DE CASO) AREIA-PB 2018

Abstract

One of the more complex tasks of clinical examination is to determine the origin of clinical signs, since sometimes there is more than one system involved in a particular condition. The renal, cardiovascular and hepatic system are frequently affected by diseases in ruminants, however dysfunctions in these organs may present difficulties to obtain the diagnosis. Thus, multidisciplinary knowledge is needed, including those related to semiology, clinical medicine and pathology. The objective of this study was to present a theoretical framework on the anatomical, physiological and semiological aspects of the cardiovascular, renal and hepatic systems, as well as the clinical, biochemical and pathological aspects inherent to the disorders in these systems. Subsequently, the follow-up of a female bovine, SRD, pregnant woman attended at the Veterinary Hospital of the UFPB, who showed signs of renal, cardiac and hepatic insufficiency. Visits were made to the place of origin of the animal, finding shrubs suggestive of being Thiloa glaucocarpa (sipaúba) in relative quantity and with signs of ingestion. The presence and ingestion of the plant in the municipality of Cacimba de Dentro-PB may be causing death of animals due to renal insufficiency, where it causes dysfunctions in the cardiovascular and hepatic systems.
