Abstract

The maracujazeiro -yellow (Passiflo edulis f. Flavicarpa), is grown throughout the Brazilian territory due to soil and climatic conditions favorable for its cultivation. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different levels of manure on vegetative growth and fruit quality of yellow passion fruit. The study was conducted in a commercial orchard Fazenda São José , located in the municipality of Curral de Cima, PB region of coastal tablelands , the coordinates 06 ° 43 ' 01 " S and 35 ° 16' 08 " W , 130 m altitude. The experimental area is classified as Alfissol . The experimental design used was a randomized complete block design with five treatments and four replications, the experimental plot consisted of 5 plants, with the central 3 plants per plot. The treatments were: 0 (control), 10, 20, 30, 40L/cova of manure, applied 30 days before planting. Were evaluated at 60 days after transplanting stem diameter of the plants, the secondary branch diameter, number of tertiary branches, length of internodes. After harvesting the fruits were evaluated: fruit weight, fruit diameter, fruit length, thickness of the rind and pulp yield. The stem diameter , in general , exhibited tendency to increase with increasing levels of cattle manure , the greater diameter of the secondary branch was found in the dosage 40L/cova . The organic fertilization showed significant difference for the variable diameter of the secondary branch. Biometric parameters were not favored by the addition of manure. However the addition of manure favors the improvement of Chemical, physical and biological soil, which justifies the application parameters. Lied heavier fruits in the higher levels of manure. It has been found that the greater the thickness of the shell is lower pulp yield.
