Autor(es): SOBRINHO, Ronaldo Gomes de Souza
Abstract: The use of irrigation in agriculture generally provides advantages, including: increasing the quality and quantity of food, fiber and sucrose content, cultures also confers greater resistance to pests and diseases, a greater possibility of uniformity cultural stand at the field level. The research was conducted in the period February 2012 to December 2012 in Camutanga, Pernambuco, to evaluate the effects of different irrigation levels on vegetative growth and crop yield in the first cycle of sugarcane. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design with four replications and treatments represented by five levels of fluid replacement based on ETc (115%, 100%, 70%, 50%, 10%), arranged in bands with four rows of cultivation. According to the results, it is observed that the application of increasing irrigation influencing plant height and tillering of sugar cane variety RB92579, while the diameter of the stem is insensitive to these treatments. Crop yield and water use efficiency have opposite behavior, where on one side, farm income is increased with increased irrigation, while the efficiency is reduced. At all levels of irrigation to reduce the number of plants m-1 insofar as the days passed until 300 days after planting were observed.
