Thus, university libraries have fundamental importance in this process given that from the legal deposit receives the publications of university presses. In this context, research on screen had as general objective: To determine the existence of legal deposit in the Central Library UFPB as the publications of the University Publishing UFPB, from the identification of the acquisition of publications University Publishing UFPB of the Central Library as well as checking the publications editor of UFPB existing in the Central Library collection and identifying in legal documents SISTEMOTECA UFPB the legal deposit obligation. For much of the research is descriptive, documentary type and exploratory taking as an instrument of data collection interview and documentary research that was applied to Librarians responsible for sections directly connected with the process of legal deposit. The survey results show that the Legal Deposit in SISTEMOTECA there, but devoid of regularity which indicates the need for urgent dialogue between stakeholders towards the establishment and structuring of effective legal deposit in institutional context. The research also suggests some actions that will enable the flow in the tank and dissemination of publications deposited. Dessa forma, as bibliotecas universitárias tem fundamental importância neste processo tendo em vista que a partir do depósito legal recebe as publicações das editoras universitárias. Neste contexto, a pesquisa em tela teve como objetivo geral: Conhecer a existência de depósito legal na Biblioteca Central da UFPB quanto às publicações da Editora Universitária da UFPB, a partir da identificação do processo de aquisição das publicações da Editora Universitária da UFPB pela Biblioteca Central, como também verificando as publicações da editora da UFPB existentes no acervo da Biblioteca Central e identificando em documentos legais do SISTEMOTECA da UFPB a obrigatoriedade do depósito legal. Para tanto a pesquisa é do tipo descritiva, documental e de caráter exploratório tendo como instrumento de coleta de dados a entrevista e a pesquisa documental que foi aplicada aos Bibliotecários responsáveis pelas seções ligadas diretamente com o processo de depósito legal. Os resultados da pesquisa mostram que o Depósito Legal no SISTEMOTECA existe, porém desprovido de regularidade o que indica que é necessário urgentemente de um diálogo entre as partes interessadas em prol do efetivo estabelecimento e estruturação do Depósito Legal em âmbito institucional.
