Abstract

This work aimed to understand the importance of individual micro entrepreneurship in João Pessoa, for this we draw the profile of the MEI in the municipality, in order to understand the benefits of the same to the informal worker, and finally, characterize the current profile of the microentrepreneur in the municipality. Data collection was performed through a questionnaire associated with the interview, which sought to understand the MEI profile in the municipality of João Pessoa. Inclusion criteria were to be an individual microentrepreneur, to work in the municipality of João Pessoa and to have an interest in participating in the research. Exclusion criteria were: not being able to answer the questionnaire due to non-comprehension or not agreeing with the disclosure of the information provided in the academic-scientific environment. The present study was confused with theoretical contexts plus relevant data included in the data collection. It was possible to understand the importance of the individual microentrepreneur within the municipality of João Pessoa and to understand some of the profile of the MEI characterizing some important aspects.
