Representação dos universitários do curso de Pedagogia sobre o bullying

Abstract

This work aimed to know the representation of university students of the Pedagogy course of the Federal University of Paraíba, in the mode of distance learning, about bullying. A total of 10 students, enrolled in the 7th and 8th years, aged between 21 and 31 years participated in this research (M= 28,6; DP= 3,33) , being 02 male participants and 08 female students. Data collection was done through a sociodemographic questionnaire, followed by a semi-structured interview script. The result indicated that the participants identified bullying as an intentional practice of humiliating and assaulting each other, a persecution, prejudice, manifested by physical and verbal / psychological aggression. In addition, they have demonstrated knowledge of only two types of bullying, namely verbal / psychological and physical, not mentioning social / relational and only one respondent mentioned cyberbullying / virtual. It is concluded that the participants presented a representation consistent with the literature, although with gaps in knowledge. In view of this, we see the need for a greater discussion of the theme in universities, especially in the pedagogy course, and in schools, in order to have more prevention and intervention actions.
