Análise das imagens relacionadas à ecologia em livros de biologia

Abstract

The textbook (LD) is considered as one of the main sources of scientific dissemination used in basic education, it is a source that investigates several phenomena that interact daily, should serve as a source of research on different subjects, but that establish links during investigations from the students. The National Textbook Program (PNLD) is the largest program of the Federal Government and intends to contribute to the guarantee of quality materials for teaching. According to PNLD 2015, text is always presented in a given layout (diagramming) flanked, complemented or interrupted by images (photos, illustration), graphics and tables, elements that will be taken into account, next to reading the text, to the most general reception of messages. Through the images, the learning becomes more significant, when the student performs activities with words and images; he is able to build knowledge about the content. The work deals with a qualitative approach, through Bibliographic Research. His analysis was carried out in the content of Ecology, focusing on the images offered by the book, according to the National Curricular Parameters for High School, more properly, that of the Biology area. One of the objectives of the PCNEM is that the students know different ways of obtaining information (reading of text and image), selecting those pertinent to the biological subject under study. The books analyzed do not explore the human interferences in the environment, that is, there is no study on environmental education. Thus only ecologically correct environment are presented without giving emphasis to the problem of human-caused environmental devastation, species in extinction by hunting, pollution, burning and deforestation and others. It was observed that the captions of the analyzed images bring information about animals and plants, such as scientific sizes and names and other information that is clear, explanatory and coherent with the text, which facilitates the reader’s understanding of the subject with reality.
