Políticas públicas para mulheres em Conde – PB: um olhar sobre os desafios das mulheres na garantia de seus direitos

Abstract

The present work deals with an old but important social and cultural question of our society. We conducted an analysis on the Public Policies for Women, having as field the municipality of Conde. We perceive how these policies are the result of a historical process of articulation and action of the women to break the paradigms of the relations between the Genders. We consider that this relationship is political and that hegemonically men have a privileged place, backed by moral, scientific, religious and cultural values, among others. Over time this reality imposed a condition of inferiority and limitations of the free exercise of citizenship to women, with cruel consequences observed to the present day.As we said above, considering the struggle, conquest and daily challenges of women, our field of research was the implementation of Policies for Women in the City of Conde, South Coast of Paraiba, through the actions of the recently created Women's Policy Coordination for Women municipal council, which acts in the articulation of intersectoral actions with the objective of integral attention to women. In order to do so, we observe that the main demands are still the basic ones, the right to live and to be free of violence due to the condition of being women,and to break with the various cycles of violence, especially in the domestic and family environment. For this, we have brought reports of situations of women in different contexts, but with challenges for being women in situations of violence.Finally, we note that the reality of women is a challenge for us as a society. Machismo, misogyny, the culture of rape and the naturalization of violence against women are complex elements that structure the main barriers to the complete emancipation of women. However, public policies, rights won are relevant to ensure the importance of women's lives, to value and recognize that our steps are fundamental and the very recent achievements, facing a new scenario that we are visualizing in the current conjuncture of our country. Each political action in the municipalities means an important act of affirming the importance of equality, equity and integrality of care for Women.
