Mata atlântica: histórico e perspectivas

Abstract

The Atlantic Forest originally covered an area equivalent to 1,315,460 square kilometers, due to problems arising from different factors linked to the history of human occupation in this locality is now considered a global hotspot, with only 8.5% of its forests. The Atlantic Forest biome has its importance related to the fact that it maintains springs and sources, regulate the flow of the water sources that supply the cities and rural communities, contribute to the purification of air, help regulate the climate, the soil temperature and protect cliffs and hillsides, and this indispensable mode for 72% of the quality of life of the population. Thus, this study aims to gather knowledge for the Atlantic Forest biome, in order to characterize it, describe its history of degradation and identify measures adopted for its recovery. Therefore it started with the understanding of geosystem Theory by Bertrand where we demonstrate the ecological potential, Biological Exploration and the effect of Anthropic Action in this area. The methodology used was the bibliographical research, which was conducted a survey of works relevant to the conceptualization of Biome and characterization and history of occupation of the Atlantic Forest, in addition to articles, laws and maps that contributed to the completion of the study.
