O aluno egresso do Curso de Pedagogia: reflexões sobre as questões de gênero e o mercado de trabalho

Abstract

This monography is the result of a research oriented to understand how gender issues influence the egress student of the Pedagogy course of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), in the period 2014-2019, regarding its insertion in the labor market, with an emphasis on masculinities and how they view the influences that gender issues have had on their choice of course, as well as the difficulties they present in entering the labor market. Thus, the specific objectives are: a) To carry out a mapping of the number of graduating students of the Pedagogy course in the 2014-2019 period and their respective areas of activity; b) Know the view of the egressed students about the influences that gender issues had on the choice of the Pedagogy course; c) Analyze the difficulties presented by students graduating from the Pedagogy course in the insertion in the job market. The authors that support this research deal with gender, masculinities and teaching, among them are: Scott (1989), Saffioti (2004), Connell (1995), Moreno (2003), Beauvoir (2016), among others, for the best basis of this work. This is a qualitative research, conducted through an online questionnaire with students graduating from the Pedagogy Course. The results point to the prejudice regarding the performance of men in Basic Education, especially in kindergarten classrooms, in addition to the frequent "habit" of distancing men from the exercise of teaching. Added to this, the results indicate that, if they could choose, the educators would not take the course again because of the difficulties they faced in inserting themselves in the job market.
