Luto antecipatório em cuidados paliativos: enfrentamento do familiar cuidador do paciente na fase final de vida.

Abstract

This research objective to investigate the coping with the anticipatory grieving process of the family that cares for the patient in the final phase of life in palliative care. Mourning is a complex process that involves feelings of sadness and sadness and can be defined as a reaction to the loss of something or someone significant as well as the break of bond. This is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The study included 15 relatives of patients in palliative care, admitted to the institution where the research was conducted. To select the sample, the following criteria were adopted: the family caregiver is over 18 years of age, accompanying the patient at the time of data collection, interested in participating in the research and being available to both sexes.
